Portishead Primary School
This is a school that we are all extremely proud of, a school well supported by a challenging governing body and a wonderful group of parents. We are proud to be part of the local community and work hard to ensure that we meet the needs of all of our pupils, academically, socially and emotionally. The wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff is always a key priority for us.
Services
Our School Vision of Relationships, Partnership & Achievement is set out in this document. A paper copy is available fom the school office. In 2003 Portishead Primary School moved to its current location from behind the High Street and has continued to grow with 450 children currently on roll. Behind this growth is a very strong mission statement and 3 core values which guide what we do and how we operate.
We have a large team of adults that work at the school to ensure that our site is clean and safe and that are pupil facing staff can facilitate excellent learning. Most of our team work directly for the school but some are contracted in from other companies. All work together seamlessly to enable the school to function effectively for all of our stakeholders with the children at the school our first priority.
Members of the Local Governing Body are drawn from parents, school staff, and the community. They oversee the management and leadership of the school. As well as the Local Governing Body (LGB), there are other governor committees: Finance Committee, Admissions Committee and Pay Committee. The Local Governing Body and Finance Committee meet six times a year each; the Admissions Committee meets three times a year; and the Pay Committee once.
As a school we are very pleased that the report reflects our own pride in our children, school staff and the local governing body. It is lovely to read that the inspector recognised our "unwavering commitment to secure the best possible education for the pupils" and our "passion and determination to strive forward and continually improve."
This is designed to give parents/carers access to any of the information you may require regarding additional needs provision at Portishead Primary School. The school has a range of resources to provide access for disabled pupils and visitors including special toilets, a hoist, a lift and ramps wherever needed.

Really nice school when I went here three years ago. Staff were friendly and willing to help and the school meals were quite nice. There was always a nice atmosphere around Christmas and any other special events. Overall a lovely school in an amazing location and I miss going here.☹️
