Originally launched in 2008, Claire & Peter Hanson acquired the restaurant from the Oakley family in 2016. Claire had been the front of house manager for 5 years and helped turn the restaurant into what it is today. We have eaten many times at Oakleys and always been happy with the service. We went with some friends this weekend and one of them has a dairy allergy- the lady that served us was brilliant going through the whole menu to explain what he could have or what could be adapted to suit his requirements- it made a nice change for him to basically have anything off the menu with adaptations being made rather than limiting his choice to a select few items. Thanks we will be back soon I’m sure

Poor meal been going to Oakley’s regularly over the last 10 year visited early December with a table of 9 meal was a real let down and not one person enjoyed the meal service wasn’t good. Wasn’t asked if we needed drinks on a regular basis. Had a two corse meal and was only asked if we needed drinks once. We won’t be returning again food was real poor quality compared to past visits

Worse food I’ve ever eaten. Initially served a bread bun that not even a steak knife could cut. Was told a new burger would be made. The burger was then topped with more cheese and served to me again. The… burger was dry and tasteless. £66 for two meals and a starter that was burnt. No alcoholic drinks. Over priced for poor quality of food. If you like good quality food stay well away from here. The restaurant was freezing cold. Which meant wearing a coat for the whole meal.

We ordered 5 individual burgers which came and once we cut into them they was raw inside which wasn't great considering one of us was pregnant. we made the staff aware who said they would re-do them, upon them coming back we checked to see if they was cooked but they was once again raw. We was there for over an hour and still got charged for the drinks we had after the very poor service.

Didn’t enjoy the food at all. Kids chips were hard, spag Bol really bland, didn’t taste of anything. Husbands burger came with no knife in it like the rest that was been served out, with raw red onions. I was given a Christmas wine glass, unlike anyone else. Very strange. Heinz tomato ketchup was not Heinz and watered down. Felt like we had just been rushed in when we had actually booked. Spoke to the manager and was given 10% off the already extortionate bill. Won’t go back, and do not recommend.

Staff are polite and helpful. Happy to answer questions. Food was very nice. There portions are quite big so don't eat much during the day before you go there. Took a friend out for lunch I Had the Mississippi Burger with fries, the burger was flavorful if not a bit juicy, fries were seasoned and tasty. all in all a pleasant meal.

We went last night with our 2 boys. The service was shocking it took them 30mins to even come and take our order and that's after I had to ask them.The food wasn't great, boring and bland. My burger came dry… even though it stated on the menu it came with a cooling garlic sauce, which I had to ask for. My boyfriends burger was tasteless. At the price they charge you should not be getting frozen fries with your meal. We then waited for our children's dessert, which came with their meal deal but again we had to ask for them. Even though the waiting staff walked past didn't clear our table

Pre pandemic my family were regulars at Oakley’s but that was the last meal we will be having there.
After my daughters graduation at Skipton castle that day a nice meal out was in order, sadly that was not to be.
The Calamari starter was a rather pathetic very underwhelming frozen type of effort.
The mixed grill was £23 but came out minus a couple of things asked for the steak to be medium/rare and it was well done, the meats in general seemed to be from the cheaper end of the suppliers range.
And I’m sorry but any restaurant that wants to be taken seriously shouldn't use frozen chips

First time here as part of a group and their recommendation for plates to suit all tastes. We were promptly seated and our drinks order taken. Service was swift and food arrival was quick. We had a selection of starters and mains and there were no complaints. Wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.
