Our first time in London! To celebrate new year! The entrance is nice and the staff was friendly at the front desk. After walking around the room for a while, I stepped on a piece of glass. While the room had just been cleaned. They immediately sent a cleaning lady to vacuum the room again. The room was extremely hot. we woke up at 5am from the heat. The accommodation list says air conditioning, but it wasn't there. It seemed as if the heating was on, because this was really not normal! We noted this before we started our first night but unfortunately there was no response. One more night to go

Always wanted to stay here as I love the east London vibe. The design of the hotel from the website was very retro, but upon staying here these were my notes:
Upkeep of room was poor, lots of scratches around the walls and furniture.
Dirt marks on the sofa.
Kitchen poorly equipped.
Design and placement of furniture didn’t make sense.
Overall, the hotel lacked character or warmth.
Plus side, it was very affordable and the staff were very friendly.

Room looks great and its clean. I went with my wife for our mini honeymoon and my wife loved it. The only worst thing is you can't adjust your own room temperature. I asked about this and the reception told us that 25 is standard temperature for entire building. It's boiling cause I couldn't even open my windows cause it's nailed to the wall completely. It's a disappointment overall.

There are many reasons why we’re giving The Town Hall Hotel as a wedding venue two stars. The purpose of this review is to inform others and also to provide feedback should the events team want to assess certain issues and implement any changes.
- We stayed at the hotel the night before our wedding, room 101, the “bridal suite” where the only place to hang my wedding dress was off the window ledge. Quite a precarious spot where the hanger could have slipped off at any point given the dress' weight. How does a five-star hotel doesn’t have merely a nail high enough on a wall where brides

There are many reasons why we’re giving The Town Hall Hotel as a wedding venue two stars.
- We did the food tasting in Feb’20 and chose a menu right before having to postpone our wedding a year and a half. The food we tasted in 2020 was unreal, it was elegant, well presented and the flavours were exquisite. In our second tasting Aug’21 the quality just wasn’t there anymore. They had changed chefs. We requested for the same menu we chose in 2020 to be served and even provided images of how it was presented. Once the chef agreed to do the same menu we requested to go for another tasting

Excellent hotel in Bethnal Green. An unexpected haven of peace in a busy location. Cool apartment style rooms with a small kitchen and a washing machine, all artfully hidden away. I was especially pleased with the staff, who were all great and super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good and the cleanliness is excellent. I'm looking forward to staying again...

Really nice hotel in the heart of vibrant east London. Nice modern rooms with comfy beds and either walking showers or baths with monsoon showers. Friendly and helpful staff and a swimming pool.

The website is a bit of a nightmare to negotiate. There was also a mix up with the rooms when we got there despite the emailed confirmation. We were not alone with that experience either.
Quirky, bits of local history around the hotel and some local artists work. Good original internal architecture and fittings. Service from the reception onwards was poor despite having polite and helpful staff. For example, breakfast was OK with a good selection, but you get shown to a table with incomplete cutlery and no salt or pepper. You have to request toast as well.
The rooms were mainly clean, our room

The good
The hotel is beautiful as it is quite historic in itself. The rooms are pretty upgraded and I even had a washer/dryer (although the dryer didn't do its job very well). There are some amazing food options. Da terra is a Michelin starred restaurant and corner room can hold its own. See my separate reviews to come on those as they were outstanding. I feel like it's a shame the service doesn't consistently match from a hotel staff perspective.

Unfortunately, the cons are copied from my direct feedback to them below-

Beautiful hotel, the restoration that has been done is amazing. As you walk into the hotel you are greeted by an amazing staircase, which is made of stone and marble. Unfortunately the front desk were not as warm and inviting as you would expect, and did not seem overly willing to help with any requests.

Fortunately we had a room down stairs near the pool area as we have an infant and surprisingly you can hearing the wedding and events going on several floors up all through the night so I could not imagine being any closer. So be aware that if it's wedding season you will be up all night

So pluses:
-Room we got is absolutely gorgeous. Huge 1 bedroom in the back. It's quiet, clean, and absolutely perfect. A/C was a HUGE plus.
-Gym area is awesome. New machines.
-Great location. Easy access to tube and bus stations.

Minuses:
-I've read on here that the staff just "don't seem to understand you". We've run into this problem twice now. Simple questions like "which floor is the first floor from the lobby" were answered with eyerolls, disdain, and not an actual answer. We figured it out...the first floor is one floor up from the lobby...I

Told me at check in that they had no room and I had to go to a room 2 miles away. In a blizzard. I refused so I guess they kicked someone else out. They shoved me down in an underground room which was a strange shape. And the swimming pool was shut. That was the reason I booked the hotel. Refused to contact anyone who had the authority to do anything til the next morning, but did say I could cancel and go somewhere else. Awful awful hotel. Horrible experience on the worst night of the year with tonnes of snow. Terrible customer service.

THE GREED IS BEYOND BELIEF !!!!!!
Being a life time platinum member of SPG, obviously a world wide traveller, I feel comfortable in airing my opinions as a good comparison to other major city hotels.
I made a reservation at Town Hall however my business plans changed at the last minute and unfortunately I had to cancel my reservation. This cancellation was made 48 minutes after the required 24 hour notice of cancellation. To my amazement the hotel informed me in very blunt terms that I had failed to conform to the 24 hour notification and I would be charged the full amount of 1 night stay should

Quiet. Huge studio apartment "room" equipped with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Deep tub. Comfortable bed. Really clean. Great breakfast. A little bit further out from London's center than I usually stay, but it was fashion week and no other option. I loved it! Also, I must say the hot water wasn't working properly and Barry, the hotel mechanic, was beyond helpful, even with a full hotel and much to do. He didn't stop until I had hot water! And he was so polite and kind. Town Hall....give Barry a RAISE!!

This hotel was the best! I picked this hotel for the last and final destination of my Europe trip. I arrived at the hotel earlier than the check in time but it wasn't a problem because the staff stored my suitcases and gave me a list of things to do around the hotel to kill time. After an afternoon of shopping, I arrived back at the hotel to find that my room was ready. The staff was super accommodating and helpful. Besides going to the swimming pool, I didn't get to explore the hotel... sadly. The continental breakfast.... A MUST! I ordered continental breakfast every morning. The room

For any fan of the mid century modern look this place is an absolute dream. Absolutely gorgeous decor - interiors inspo everywhere you look - with lovely and interesting bits and pieces round every corner. The bar was amazing - great cocktails, lovely staff, zero hipster posturing - and the slick and stylish pool is the cherry on top. Just go already, you won't be disappointed.

I have been here twice now.

The first time was part of a guided walk around art galleries in the area. The Town Hall Hotel commissioned emerging artists when it first opened and is filled with beautiful and interesting pieces. We were lucky to be shown around the corridors, some of the rooms and even the penthouse. If you are lucky enough to stay the night here you are given a code for some x-rated digital art - what a lovely idea. The "don't disturb" signs are lovely, too, and available for sale as a souvenir.

The second visit was in search of the hotel bar. I hadn&apos

The hotel and restaurant staff gave me quite possibly the best service I've ever received. Every day there was something that they went out of their way to do.

It was a treat to have a kitchen and laundry facilities in the room. The rooms are very comfortable, beautiful, spacious..

I will be returning to this hotel.

I am a boutique hotel junkie. I find them, memorize everything about them and then count down the days 'til I can cross one off my list.

I was thoroughly unimpressed by London's boutique hotel scene. Many were pompous and stuffy or designed by people with a similar aesthetic to my grandparents. Sweet people of course, just not my scene.

When I found Townhall, it all clicked. The photos showed literally a former townhall or city building with rooms filled with mid century furniture and not one, but two hotel restaurants with a serious chef to back them up.

Maybe my expectations

To paraphrase some rapping (and take a creative license): this ain't no ho'tel, no motel, no Holiday Inn...

...this hotel is a beaut.

A little off the beaten path (and I say that as a plus), the Town Hall Hotel has been helping people get their ZZZs on since 2010.

In addition to the Viajante restaurant, the Corner Room restaurant, and the sleek bar, the Town Hall has many draws. Here's a partial list, with a lot of exclamation points:

A pool!
A great selection of magazines!
Amazingly helpful and thoughtful staff (need a cot? Sure! Need an umbrella to fight off the drizzle
