Services
The Montcalm at the Brewery wears its quirky heritage with pride, an award-winning transformation from historic brewery to handsome five star hotel. With period features at every turn, it stays faithful to its past as the eighteenth century base of Whitbread & Co, but it's also every inch the twenty-first century hotel you'd expect of a superbly central City of London location.
Bringing past and future together beautifully, bedrooms hint at the building's history while offering every modern comfort. Sash windows reveal a characterful Georgian streetscape, luxe fabrics and finishes exude contemporary quality, bathrooms are sleek and spacious. Replete with gleaming marble, rain showers invigorate while Elemis or Herms bath products pamper.
Travelling needn't mean abandoning the diet and for saking the fitness routine. Because we understand that luxury is about equilibrium as well as indulgence, we've a dedicated fitness suite to help keep up with your fitness routine during your stay with us. So whether you're working out or winding down, you'll feel the difference an hour or so here makes to your day.
It could be our insistence that little things matter. It could be our uncompromising commitment to quality. It could be the simple sophistication of a stay at the Montcalm. Whatever it is that keeps our guests coming back, we're privileged to see familiar faces checking in with us again and again. When you become one of them, we want you to feel privileged too, so we've created a loyalty programme that about more than just collecting points.

Poor service. We arrived twenty minutes prior the set time for check-in and we waited downstairs, something which I consider reasonable. The staff told us that rooms will ready to check in at 2pm, but when we tried to check in at 2:10 pm, the staff said that we needed to wait another 30 minutes because the room was not ready. Btw the queue is so long for check-in, most people needed to wait outside to enter the hotel. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A 5 STAR HOTEL, BUT DEFINITELY IT ISN’T

DO NOT BOOK! Probably the worst service I have ever encountered, was told we could check in at 11:30am in the morning travelled down to London at 8pm, as we arrived the lobby was very busy and when we got to the front of the queue they proceeded to charge £50 deposit for the room. After this they only then decided to tell us that they didn’t have any rooms for us, so 8 and a half hours after the check in time they didn’t think to inform us of this, they was not sincere on the front desk either the staff were laughing and joking between them, they said to us that if we leave our bags with them

SCAMMERS be careful. 1 hour waiting to be checked in because they couldn't find our booking. Never even a simple apology for the delay or issues. Room keys didn't work. Then checked our bank account and they had charged an extra €200. Thankful are flight had not taken off arrived back the hotel.. Told me didn't stay last night from the lady who checked me in! Crazy!! STAY AWAY .

The Montcalm at the Brewery, apparently a 5-star hotel, but with 2-star service.
Even before we arrived there were issues, with a member of our four-person party told that the hotel was closed due to a small number of bookings and their booking transferred to another hotel nearby. This was demonstrably untrue (the hotel was open for 3 of our party) and also unacceptable to move one member to a different hotel.
Beyond this, the front-of-house staff appeared uninterested in their guests in the main, and it was somewhat transactional. Not great, especially given the premium charged on the services

Want to take cold showers cause there is no warm water? Want to wake up in the middle of the night at random time cause an alarm sound? Want to call reception at 2am cause the wall plugs stops working? Want to be denied breakfast with a cheap excuse? Want to get mocked by the staff? Want the cleaning service to NEVER clean your room? This and many other terrible thing will happen to you in this hotel. I went to London for a conference and my company booked this hotel, needless to say it's by far the worst hotel i've ever been to EVER... and it costs a fortune! I strongly advise against it... save
