Cannot recommend this place highly enough. They accommodated us without much notice at all after another restaurant turned us away because of my son's allergies. We made our way to Astoria where we received a warm welcome from professional servers. It is an open kitchen for a start which is always a good thing as you can watch your food being prepared. The manager brought out an allergy book where he had mapped his dishes so could show us which foods were safe to eat and those that were not. Incidentally there was only one dish on the menu that was not safe for our son. The manager also checked

Food was decent but service is lacking.
Botg ordered starters and my partner ordered some tapas dishes and I the Calzone but we ended up eating separately and when I complained I was told that's what happens in a tapas restaurant!! Hmm not all the ones I've been to and in any case I shouldn't be made to feel in the wrong without a simple apology. Sadly won't be going again.

Visited for the first time on Christmas Eve and must admit that it was a pleasant experience.
The place itself looks rather stylish and cosy (depending on where you're seated), service was efficient even though a little stern at times and food was perfectly fine. My daughter had the Wild Boar Ragù spaghetti which was very nice actually. We had opted for the Festive Tapas Menu which was excellent value. Flavours were good but none of the tapas dishes were memorable in themselves.
I feel that the actual "mains" (as in pasta dishes and such) might be the better option at Astoria.
I would forget
