We are the Desiderio family founders of Pizzeria Bella Italia, Luisa and I (Michelle) are Tino and Barbaras two daughters. Mum and Dad started in business around thirty years ago, putting every penny they owned - and more - into a small premises they bought and turned it into Casa Mia (on the original Rock in bury).

Over the years because of our success Dad has been reluctant to change anything, but Luisa and I have felt we needed to re-invent our internal decor, and on the back of that Salvatore Luisas husband is our head chef and he wanted to do the same to our menu too. After oodles of persuasion Mum and Dad said yes to both.

We had a very pleasurable visit to this place for a birthday. The staff were extremely pleasant and at times rather amusing. Background music was played at a nice volume. Lighting was a little dark which made it hard to see the menu's. Parking is on street and entry is by steps. The food was delicious.

Excellent family owned restaurant which has been in business in the town for decades. The food is great and inexpensive, staff & owners are friendly, the service is good and the place has a pleasant cosy atmosphere to it. Bookings are recommended as often very busy and full to capacity due to it's relatively small size, especially when themed music evenings take place each month. Highly recommended for a lovely evening meal.

Never used before but had some great reviews - this one is no different. Impressed from start to finish. Good menu with great choice, attentive but not overbearing waiting staff, beautifully cooked and presented food, lovely tasting food too. Cost was great too - starter and main with 2 beers £24, cannot moan at all. Shall certainly be back.

I first visited this restaurant when I lived in Bury in 1981. Then it only occupied what is now the far end of the place. It was great then and some years ago we began calling in some of the times we were in the area. In thinking we'd go again for lunch today I checked the web site and reviews as we haven't visited since 2019. I wanted to be sure they had survived the lockdowns.
One review complained about it needing some redecorating and dusting. Well, I have no recollections of being displeased about that in the past but I paid attention to both today. It was bright and clean. I made no mention

Great food and great atmosphere as usual. We were a group of 4 and we all had something different. I had the risotto al forno for the first time, but not the last. Delicious. The others were all very impressed with their food as well. Add to this the great service and you really can't go wrong.

Nice restaurant, felt a bit crowded because how close the tables were and the volume of people. Service was good, food was great however because of the size of portions, the dishes felt too heavy like the carbonara and the cheese pizza felt they had too much cream and cheese on. If the portions were smaller then it wouldn't have spoilt the taste. But overall enjoyed the meal and would go again.

Nice Italian place, lovely staff. Potentially busy so it’s worth booking. The food was good: the pesto tomato cheese garlic bread in particular was excellent. Mains were okay although a little on the dry side (both pasta and risotto dishes). These are baked dishes so it’s to be expected in this style. The fries were great, fresh and crispy. Definitely worth visiting! I will try a fish or meat based fish next time.
