The Italian Orchard part of the San Marco group of restaurants was established in 1985. Family-owned and run for almost thirty years, the restaurant has approximately 300 covers, with 100 of these being situated in the restaurant's glass-fronted extension, overlooking the fountains, ideal for alfresco dining in the summer.
The menu offers something for everyone, with a blend of traditional and modern Italian cooking. Where possible ingredients are sourced directly from Italy. Seafood is also a specialty, you will often find fresh oysters, lobster, monkfish, sea bass, Dover sole amongst others on the ever-changing specials menu.

Services
Our menu offers something for everyone featuring both classic Italian dishes such as our traditional hand rolled pizza, or modern Italian for example calves liver pan fried in balsamic vinegar with caramelised onions. The majority of produce used is hand picked and sourced directly from Italy but local produce is also incorporated in our menu with variations like the spicy salami and Bury black pudding bruschetta.
Our extensive menu is complemented by our personally selected wine list. After tasting literally hundreds of wines over the years we only approve a handful for consideration. We taste the bad wine so you don't have to. 50% tazzelenghe, 25% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot - a deep, inky purple, reveals earthy, exotic aromas laced with suggestions of blackberry jam, violets, spices, minerals, liquorice and mint.

A very impressive set up which gave my wife and I the feel good factor as we approached the building and were seated in the bar awaiting our table. Restaurant was lovely and staff very attentive. However we both found the food pleasant enough but pretty average by our normal expectations. The prices were in our opinion slightly higher than justified for the quality of food recieved. All in all a nice experience but it didn't 'blow our socks off'.

This was a work do including partners… it was a hidden gem as we drove past it the first time around! Beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The service was exemplary and the food was YUMMY I had the salmon and prawns wrapped up, when the hubby walk talking I nicked his tempura prawns. For main I had Crab ravioli there just wasn’t enough, so I enjoyed Pasta which had the right amount of chilli. The deserts just too hard to pick one mine was Lemon cheesecake.
There was some lovely people dining out it was just magical. Would go again.

We came to this restaurant to celebrate a family member's milestone birthday. The lunch menu gives a 2-course and 3-course combination of starters, mains, and desserts with ample choices.
We, a party of 13, ordered and sampled varieties of dishes from the lunch menu. For starters: we chose Pate della Casa, Oriental Tempura King Prawns, Seafood Salad, Mussels Provencal; mains: Duck Leg, Spicy Pork, Slow Roasted Pork, Braised Beef, Spaghetti alla Bolognese, Fettuccine al Salmone, Fusilli Amatriciana, and Lasagna. All dishes were mostly well prepared with good presentation.

I was invited here for a birthday celebration meal with my other half's family.
I was a little bit nervous as I was told it was quite posh and I'm not really used to posh. Turns out it's really not super fancy, but the other clientele were quite smartly dressed, and it seemed that there were quite a few groups of young women dressed up to the nines, so I was glad I'd made a wee bit of an effort. It seems to be a very popular place for family celebrations as well as couples.
Italian food is always problematic for me, as being vegan and gluten free tends to rule out everything

I love this place, it's definately my favourite Italian restaurant in the Preston area, the only problem is that it's a little bit out of the way and costs me a fair bit of money for a taxi to get to and from home.
The staff are well dressed, the service is very good, the food is great, very good standard and you do get value for money for what you pay, I've been there several times and I'll have no hesitation in coming back, if there's a night out planned!

I visited this place last night with my gf after hearing some good reviews. Initial impressions were good, the venue is in a nice location and is well appointed inside.
The food was good, we had garlic bread to start and I had veal ravioli, one of the specials, for main. This was tasty, although the portion size was a tad small, even for such a rich dish.
What spoiled the experience for me was over attentive waiters (we had barely finished eating before the plates were whisked away) and rude bar staff (asking for drinks before your meal to be put on your bill isn't an unreasonable request
