Ate here yesterday as part of the 'eat out to help out' scheme with another couple, despite how busy they were we were given the choice to sit in or outside the restaurant, we opted to eat inside. There was a slight wait for the table which we were given thorough updates on the status. Once seated the atmosphere was cosey, service very good and food was delicious.

Dreadful for parking, but once you're there its pretty near brilliant. Good food, very helpful & Friendly staff (ask for Les, have seen him in many restaurants and he is one of Hull's best). They do a great Italian draught beer - Moriati as well as some superb wines. A real bistro style Italian eaterie but with excellent tamla Motown Music. One of my favourites.

Da Gianni profits from a superb location and attractive traditional decor. Beyond that nothing seems to be quite right.
The pizza is alright, smallish, but the tomato sauce is pretty bland. While waiting for my pizza I watched a cream pasta sauce being boiled furiously over high heat, so I would avoid the pasta - I can incinerate single cream for myself at home if I want.
The food is priced in line with the image projected, not the product. Service was average, slow, and an order of about 5 items needed repeating several times (and checking before it was accepted).
