We expect the highest standards of work and behaviour from each child and this was reflected in our recent OFSTED report, which praised the quality of teaching and learning, behaviour, relationships and ethos at Hollywood School. Our school has successfully achieved the Rights Respecting Schools UNICEF UK Recognition of Commitment award.
The certificate will be displayed on the 'Pupil Voice' display board. The Award is based on the principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation and at Hollywood Primary School we are aiming for these principles to underpin our schools' values and ethos. Our Mission is to develop each child as a caring, confident and independent young person able to play a full part in a changing world.

Services
There are 419 children from 4 to 11 years of age at Hollywood School, arranged in 14 mixed ability classes staffed by both teachers and teaching assistants. The school has recently taken on responsibility for an ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) Resource base which caters to the needs of 12 children, with specialist staff and resources.
We aim for the highest possible standards of teaching and learning in all subjects through a broad and balanced curriculum. We aim to promote an enthusiasm for learning that is lifelong and enables our children to grow as independent, confident young people in the new technological age. We aim to foster an ethos that creates an atmosphere of mutual trust, courtesy and co-operation.
As a Rights Respecting School, Hollywood Primary School strives to ensure that the culture and ethos of the school is one in which, whatever the heritage and origins of members of the school community, everyone is equally valued and treats one another with mutual respect. CRC Article 30 is particularly pertinent.
I must thank the whole school community for their support over the last two years which has helped us to move in such a positive direction to be recognised as a GOOD school. From Monday next week the library will be open at lunchtimes for children to borrow books. Please see this weeks newsletter for more details.
I have been a school governor since 2016. I have worked in education for over 20 years as an IT Technician in schools and Further Education colleges across Birmingham. I have also been a volunteer in two charities in Birmingham as the treasurer and also have experience in employment relations due to being Secretary of Trade union branch.
