Henderson Upholstery was set up by Neil Henderson in 2010 to provide Edinburgh with a superior Upholstering service for traditional and modern furniture. Neil has been upholstering for 17 years, having served his time learning all the traditional methods of upholstery. He initially worked with Kadian Partnership where he learned the concepts of modern upholstering and refurbishment of clubs and hotels.
We at Henderson Upholstery like to treat an Antique piece of furniture like it should be treated, with great care, attention and using time honoured traditional methods. From hand tieing coil springs using the 9 knot method to hand stuffing with horse hair and finally stitching in the old traditional manner.
We at Henderson Upholstery can solve your problems and give your sofa a complete new lease of life. From replacing seat cushions to complete recovery you are sure to get a great price and quality workmanship from us. No job is too big or small, we re-upholster anything from a footstool to a three piece suite.
Our bespoke service offers you the chance to design a sofa, stool or headboard that is tailored exactly to your requirements. Our frames are made from Kiln Dried Beech, not like the sub-standard frames that are mass produced. We take a great amount of time and effort to ensure that all our frame joints are properly dowled, glued and screwed into place to give you a sofa that will last for a lifetime.
Another of our specialities, that gives us great satisfaction, is the refurbishment of Bars, Bistros, Restaurants and Hotels. The difference that we can make to old tired looking seating areas is incredible, making your environment much cleaner, fresher and attractive to your current and new customer base.

Neil re-covered two old sofas for me and did an absolutely fantastic job, with a very quick turnaround. I can’t praise Neil enough. He was totally professional in his dealings with me. He turned up when he said he would, and if he was going to be delayed he let me know in advance. He also did me a big favour by taking my sofas away early, to allow re-decoration. Neil’s prices are very reasonable and I am planning to get him to re-upholster some other furniture. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Neil.
