Vivace Music School
Engaging songs & activities, movement and stories to encourage children to make the music their own. Beautiful songs grown-ups enjoy singing in the sessions and at home. Learning the language of music in a fun and playful way, ideal both as a foundation and alongside instrumental tuition. Children acquire a good sense of rhythm and tuning, aural skills and learn to read music notation - no home practice required.

Children continue discovering and mastering increasingly advanced concepts, learning the nuts and bolts of music practically through continued whole-body movement, singing games and instruments. All children learn to play the recorder, and also have the option to bring other instruments they play to the lessons.
Services
Music beats every other activity in its ability to engage the whole brain at once. Research has shown that music helps you learn - language, social skills, emotional intelligence, physical co-ordination, numeracy, you name it, music has it covered. And the biggest benefit to children is in the first seven years of life - well before most can learn to play an instrument.
We follow a carefully thought-out tried and tested curriculum uniquely suited to each age-group, which combines maximum fun with real long-time learning. During their time with us, children acquire a good ear, sense of rhythm, tuning and innate musicality - a solid foundation not just for learning to play an instrument, but lots of other learning besides!
Interested in learning more about the Kodly approach to teaching music? Training is available through the British Kodly Academy, as well as through Len Tyler, founder of the Len Tyler Music School (now Vivace Music School).

Len Tyler is an established Kodly practitioner who has been running teacher-training workshops and courses in association with the British Kodly Academy, County and Borough Music Services and other organisations for a number of years, both nationally and internationally.Len is able to offer workshops on the use of the Kodly approach to music teaching for classroom teachers (preschool and primary) and also instrumental teachers.
Our online classes are a safe and convenient alternative to face-to-face classes at the moment, and we are delighted to continue running them. Once restrictions are eased, some face-to-face classes will resume. We very much enjoyed the virtual music lesson. It was lovely to see everyone else enjoying the songs and activities with us, and my 4 year old was engaged and grinning from ear to ear throughout.
