The Len Tyler Music School was founded in 1994 and delivered music classes for children from pre-birth to upper primary until 2020. Teacher training workshops began in 1999 initially on behalf of the British Kodly Academy but subsequently for many schools, music services and other organisations across the country.

In 2012 a teacher training event was organised in Kenya and since then further training has been delivered in Uganda (twice), Malta (three times), South Africa and Pakistan. Future events are planned for China and Poland as well as return trips to South Africa and Pakistan. It was in the rural village of Lubenham (Leicestershire) that Len Tyler had his first introduction to music when he joined the local church choir.
Services
Kodly Training for classroom and instrumental teachers is available both in the UK and abroad. Kodly Musicianship training for adults is available on line. Teacher training in the UK is delivered by Len Tyler in a number of ways from a twilight training session to a full day or two day workshop. A series of "Kodly in the Klassroom" workshops will be reinstated once life return to normal.
Whole school music sessions are ideal for primary and preschools. The two elements are a training session for staff and a day of music making for the children. Staff Training: This can take the form of a two hour twilight training session. No previous musical skills are are required. These sessions help to give staff the confidence and basic knowledge required to run a music session.
In 1989 Rose started teaching woodwind initially at the Army Junior School of Music in Bovington and went on to deliver woodwind lessons for a number of organisations in the state and private sector including Surrey County Music Service (now Surrey Arts). In 1994 she decided to work from home and set up a private teaching practice that continues to this day.
Music beats every other activity in its ability to engage the whole brain at once. Research has shown that music helps you learn - language, social skills, emotional intelligence, physical co-ordination, numeracy, you name it, music has it covered. And the biggest benefit to children is in the first seven years of life - well before most can learn to play an instrument.
This first set of two-part exercises covers all five pentatonic structures. Exercises in this collection start with simple examples and gradually progress as you make your way through the book. All five pentatones are included, as are key signatures up to three sharps and three flats. There is information on the structure of the pentatones.
