A short video has been produced presenting the clubs facilities. New members who haven't had the chance to look round properly may find this particularly useful. Keep an eye on the DYC WhatsApp group for any last minute changes to the sailing programme. If you want to join the WhatsApp group please email your request with your mobile phone number to: secretary@debenyachtclub.co.uk.

Services
The DEBEN YACHT CLUB at Woodbridge in Suffolk was founded in 1838 when boats on the river Deben estuary were mainly used for trade and transport but some owners started using them for fun. Today it is a thriving club operating mainly with modern dinghies on the upper part of the estuary, close to Woodbridge town centre and local car parks.
The DYC Galley team provides catering for club activities ranging from weekly dinghy/yacht racing to social events at the clubhouse, as well as at special occasions such as the Laying Up Supper. The team is ably supported by MANY volunteers who man the sailing rota and provide additional support at major events such as Regatta Week.
There is a long history behind the Deben Yacht Club (DYC) and its location close to the heart of Woodbridge. In pre-history, local maritime activities, skills and traditions grew through centuries of settlement and of technical, transport, commercial and social development. The first date in the club's own history is 1838, when the owners of local businesses arranged the first of a series of annual regattas and other 'yacht' race events.
Hi all, the 2020 sailing programme has a few changes. We are going to have some race training on some of the Club Sailing sessions and we have added a few weekend flotillas to allow sailors to have a chance to sail further down the river with Safety boat cover.
We start the season with the Tune Up Series for Fast and Slow handicap dinghies; a good series with 2 back to back Races a day to get your sailing skills honed and it's nice to get out sailing again after the winter break.Following that series are the Spring Points, Evening Points, Autumn Points and the Winter Series finishing in December.
