Crewkerne Health Centre Crewkerne
Crewkerne Health Centre has operated from Middle Path since 1973. The Health Centre joined Symphony Healthcare Services in 2017 and subsequently merged with the West One Surgery during 2018 to serve the population of Crewkerne, caring for nearly 13,000 patients in the local community.

Joining together to form one larger multidisciplinary team enables the provision of a wide range of healthcare services, including minor surgery, over the two locations - both within five minutes walk.Registered patients are able to access appointments at both locations, depending on their medical needs.
Services
You will be registered with the surgery and patients over 75 years old will be registered with a specific doctor. When phoning or submitting a request online please specify if you have a preference as to which doctor or clinician you see. We will endeavour to meet your request where possible although you may have to wait a little longer for an appointment with a specified doctor.
We are only able to do blood tests if these have been requested either by us or another NHS or Private service [please note that if the blood test is in relation to a private service we will charge a small fee]. A blood test is when a sample of blood is taken for testing in a laboratory. Blood tests have a wide range of uses and are one of the most common types of medical test.
Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. You may be triaged by a health care professional to determine whether or not a home visit is an appropriate solution. It may be that a health care professional can deal with the problem via a telephone or video call, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance if required.
Vaccination is one of the most important things we can do to protect ourselves and our children against ill health. They prevent up to 3 million deaths worldwide every year. Since vaccines were introduced in the UK, disease like smallpox, polio and tetanus that used to kill or disable millions of people are either gone or seen very rarely.
If you are yet to sign up for Patient Access you will need to register first; this is easy to do. Alternatively, telephone reception and we will post it out to you. Once you have your letter you can then register online here and follow the instructions to create your patient access account. Please order in a reasonable time and do not expect to collect a prescription the same day that you order it.

I have not had a problem with Crewkerne Health Centre, I have always been dealt with efficiently and since having a baby even during these pressing times he has always been seen in person by a doctor quickly where necessary and have always had a fairly prompt response on the phone too

Useless, can't see a doctor. Had to wait a month to get telephone call from one. And they messed up my tablets. Now another month gone by and can't sort the issue out. Ran out of blood pressure tablets a month ago. And still trying to get them to prescribe right ones. Big unhappy sigh. Didn't want to do even a single star, but won't let me post otherwise:((((((

EDIT: OCT 2021.
Honestly wish I could give minus stars or even at least, no stars. Absolute s**t-show of a surgery and that’s being polite! Dr’s are rude, dismissive and insensitive. When complaining about that, apparently they’ve done nothing wrong; well label me over-sensitive then because I have been spoken to with such a lack of compassion it’s laughable. Unwilling to help, even when wits-end and crying out for help.
Currently looking elsewhere so I don’t have to deal with this so called ‘doctors surgery’… chimps tea party more like, although that would be better organised

Appalling service. My wife had a large infected abscess on her leg and the surgery refused to see her, just prescribed antibiotics over the phone even though if they had taken one look at it they would have seen it was past that. Ended up with her having to have emergency surgery in Yeovil Hospital to remove the nasty infection and avoid sepsis. Hospital had to leave the wound open and told wife she needed to go to CHC each day to get it checked, packed and dressed. CHC would not see her and told us to drive to Chard minor injuries every day to get it done even though she could not sit in the car

Absolutely appalling system showing no support or care for patients in need, not listening to needs of individuals just ticking boxes.. would not recommend visiting as you will not get the care you need when necessary!! needs a huge shake up and to listen to its patients and their needs not symphony’s needs - awful how patients are neglected time and time again.

Totally unsatisfactory service in every respect and has been for 2x years now. Nobody does anything about it and you cannot contact anyone to complain either.
Several months ago I wrote a letter to the practice and to date have not received a reply .
I have been trying to arrange a blood test appointment without success for over a year now! then recently they had the nerve to write to me stating that my annual blood test was overdue and recommending that I should make an appointment for a blood test !
The practice recently 'lost' my Covid-19 vaccine records resulting in receiving my vaccine

I've not physically seen a Doctor for years always call backs! A growth on my arm diagnosed as benign skin cancer was ignored no treatment. Problems with my legs ignored but i was sent a diabetics diet sheet! Self diagnosed PTSD ignored! In fact I wonder what They really do? Staff turnover is so high that there is zero continuity and no one follows up full stop!

Since this Health Centre has gone over to Symphony it is a total shambles. I have not had a designated doctor in over a year... just locums. And as for trying to phone well don't get me started. I have been holding on the phone now for an hour and twenty minutes. I am apparently number 1 in the queue and have been for a good hour of that time. I have been trying to cancel and rearrange an appointment. Please do not dare kick off and complain about people missing appointments when they can't get hold of you. And as for that awful tune that is coming down the phone....I am surprised the suicide rate

Spent at least half an hour listening to absolutely horrendous music on the phone, only to be answered by some person who asked me what was wrong with me I asked if they were a qualified doctor she said no, so I asked for an appointment with a doctor only to be told they are not seeing anyone. What a rubbish service

I haven't seen a doctor for years. I have a lump in my neck. Had a pretty stressful week not knowing what it is. Went on to ask my gp. I got no reply. Only after 2 phone calls and 5 days I got a message. No call as I requested. Its now over a week and I'm having to call again. Probably be another 20 minutes wait. Been with CHC since 1980. I've found another surgery. Forms filled in so I'm off ASAP

Omg so a lovely guy who orders his repeat prescription by hand delivering it to the surgery is told “do it over the internet” by reception. He doesn’t do the internet or a smart phone. Do they offer an alternative. Nope. Couldn’t care less. Do they pick up the phone to his deeply concerned daughter. Nope. Could they care less. Nope. So all the older people out there, be warned, this surgery couldn’t care less.
