Services
If you have been off work for less than 7 days, you do not usually need a certificate from the doctor. A self-certificate can be completed by you and given to your employer. If you need a repeat sick note for an ongoing problem, please request this via the prescriptions service. This is a reminder date on your prescription for your GP.
Although a traditional part of General Practice, home visits are time consuming. Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. So please help us to help you and our other patients by visiting the surgery whenever possible. We want to see as many patients as efficiently as possible and ensure patients receive optimal care.
This is a new initiative across Somerset whereby patients can make appointments at extended times (up until 8pm at night Monday-Friday) at other practices across the local area. Practices working together to deliver extended access to appointments are listed on the poster below. Appointment types will vary, some being face to face and some by phone and there will be a mixture of pre-bookable and same day appointments available across the week.
Due to increased demand for appointments, we will now be offering ear syringing slots within set clinic times only. This may mean that there will be several weeks wait for an appointment. You may need to consider making an appointment at Specsavers if you are unable to wait. Minor surgical procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic in the practice on a weekly basis.
The Fit Note replaces the old style Sick Note. Your doctor will issue you with a Fit Note when your health affects your ability to work; the information provided will help your employer to understand how they might be able to help you return to work sooner. Fit Notes are issued only on the eighth day of sickness, though they can be issued earlier if more than seven days off work seems likely from the outset.

I have been let down by a .misdiagnosis by a GP at this Health Centre which caused massive consequences to my wellbeing and life-changing disability. Seems like nothing has changed as a vital x-ray result wasn't relayed to my surgeon at Bristol for an upcoming appointment.

Highly disappointed with the treatment of my 93 year old mother who has been in severe pain for nearly a year. It took lots of phone calls before i got anywhere...practice kept insisting they would only speak with my Mother on the phone even though i told them she is very deaf...They should have that on her records?? Cant take her to A & E because they dont want to know. It should be obvious to a Doctor that some one Who is experiencing agony day & night is MAYBE not just suffering from arthritis!!!😡

A while back I tried to phone re an urgent missing item on a prescription, but got a message saying, approximately, "We are making improvements so we cannot handle your call, P*** Off!". That's poor.
Even worse now! Phone one number and you are told to phone another one. The other number says, roughly, "We're closed. P*** Off. We're making improvements. Order on line."
I then try to register for the online prescription service. Similar message, "P*** Off! We don't do online."
Many other things wrong with this facility. Receptionists use their superior medical knowledge (!!??) to deny doctor

I have lived all over Taunton and therefore had the experience of multiple surgeries. This one is by far the best so far. The staff are efficient, the many doctors I have seen have been pleasant to deal with and rarely do I find appointments are late the times I have had to attend.

Nigh on impossible to actually get a repeat prescription. The bureaucracy seems to be actually designed to prevent you from reaching anyone useful. I also had one of the worst experiences with a doctor in my entire life, literally the most rude and dismissive medical practitioner I have ever spoken to. Will be looking for a new practice very soon.
Edit: after 10 days of trying to get a prescription, today I managed it - only to find they'd given me 1 month's supply and not 6 as they had previously. Despite the surgery having ALL my contact details no one bothered to get in touch and let me know

Been a patient here all my life and they have consistently given a high level of care. There are periods when phones are busy and mistakes are made but that's life and does not take away from the invaluable service to its patients

Have been with this health centre for 25 years. I, and my family, have been superbly looked after. We have a family doctor who is fantastic, but over the years we have all seen various doctors and the care from all of them has been excellent. This is a first class health centre that has had to put in place various strategies to manage the ever increasing patient numbers. The filter through a nurse practitioner first makes perfect sense, that way the doctors see the patients that need them and the less serious issues can be dealt with by a nurse. You are always passed on to a doctor if that is what

I've read others poor reviews and really feel that all of those who are well looked after by the surgery should take the time to drown it out with positive reviews!!! I understand peoples frustrations can often lead to them wanting to vent, I've had those feelings myself with the NHS at times.
But I would stress to anyone loookng at this surgery that they have taken such good care of me for a long time.
I am currently under the care of not one, but SIX specialists. This allows me to give some very good feedback on how the surgery deal with a variety of serious issues affecting health, and I can

Just signed up as new patient, and also seen a Dr. So far I'm pretty impressed, right from first contact on telephone I've been treated with respect, information needed has been given simply yet with intelligence. The reception room is small admittedly, but after thinking hard that's the only negative so far. I'll update after more experience of this surgery that is far far better already than my last. And hopefully move that star to 5. X
