Dorchester Sailing Club
Dorchester Sailing Club is a family-friendly club in the Thames Valley, situated just off the A415/A4074 less than half a mile from the picturesque village of Dorchester-on-Thames. With lakeside parking and plenty of space for picnics, as well as a modern clubhouse, the mature 16 hectare lake with several islands provides an ideal environment for both new and experienced sailors.

We are a registered charity run by the members for the members. The club has activities throughout the year including racing and training and members are free to sail for leisure at any time. Handicap racing takes place on Sundays year-round with Wednesday evening informal racing in the summer.
Services
Single Membership: any person over the age of 18 keen and interested in sailing and in promoting and supporting the activities of the Club. Joint (Family) Membership: a relationship of up to 2 Adults who are or may become keen and interested in sailing and in promoting and supporting the activities of the Club and any children of either Adult who are financially dependent on them.
DSC is very fortunate to a have a modern Club House with spacious changing rooms & showers and a small kitchenette, as well as a clubroom overlooking the lake. For winter, under-floor heating is provided by a lake-sourced heat pump. Whether on the enclosed patio or in the clubhouse it is a very comfortable place to sit, eat lunch and drink coffee and tea.
We have a range of club boats available for hire by members only. Members are welcome to take guests in the boats with them, but the boat is the responsibility of the member who hired it and they are expected to be in charge of it at all times. There is no system for booking boats, they are available on a first come first served basis.
Our instructing team has some experience of teaching individuals with disabilities and special needs, please get in touch to discuss if we can be of help. We allow members to use non-sailing craft to support sailing. For example, non-sailing members of a family may use a SUP whilst the others are sailing or when there is no wind.
The club is committed to promoting youth sailing. We have a range of club boats available for hire by members making sailing accessible to as wide a range of families as possible. When possible we work with other clubs and organisations in the region to promote wider opportunities for sailing. Details of any opportunities we are currently aware of are below.

This is an excellent sailing club. It has a beautiful lake, everyone is friendly, there is a wide range of well kept club boats and a nice club house. You can’t ask for anything more.
