Services
Datchet Water Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognised Training Centre, On-Board Club and British Youth Sailing Recognised Club. Our professional team of RYA qualified instructors deliver tuition in dinghy sailing, powerboating and first aid. Whether you have never stepped into a boat before or have years of sailing behind you, there is something available for you at Datchet Water Sailing Club.
Datchet Water is ideal for sailing dinghies, keelboats, catamarans, windsurfers, wing foils and stand up paddleboards. We offer sailing for a wide range of classes with at least one boat of almost every class in our boat park. Traditional classes are well represented at the club with Flying Fifteens, Wayfarers and Lasers all having a strong following.
Datchet Water Radio Sailing Club is a growing group of enthusiastic radio sailors aged from 8 to 80+ that sail the four International Classes of radio control yachts. Using the same racing rules as full size boats the racing is very competitive. We normally sail every Sunday and every other Saturday when conditions allow.
Datchet Water is a great location for windsurfing, wind foiling, wing foiling and stand-up paddleboarding. The reservoir is one of the largest in the area, almost two kilometres long and over a kilometre wide, providing an amazing open stretch of water to enjoy the wind while being overlooked by Windsor Castle.

Overpriced considering its very restrictive on when open etc particularly during summer months not allowing water users to take advantage of the extended daylight hours- rather rude and dismissive staff also mentioning no names on more then one occasion I was spoken to inapropriately. Depending on time of year, backflow and sediment from the Thames etc making the water rather dirty washing up a lot of unpleasant debris along the water's edge.

I sailed at this place for one of the optimist zones squad selections, after high winds cancelled any hope of racing in Weymouth. Although at first I was sceptical about its inland position with the high winds, often making for a unreliable venue, the size of the reservoir allowed time for the shifts to even out, allowing for some very competitive and close sailing. The club itself was small, but well equipped and everyone was welcoming and friendly.

I have been a member of three sailing clubs and DWSC is by far the best. It has good facilities excellent staff and training manager. The training courses are good and include power boat training. It has regular weekly racing. The facilities are modern. The fleets are varied and can probably cater for most sailing interests.Highly recommended.

The largest area of unrestricted sailing water in West London with easy launching at all times even for Flying Fifteen keel boats and heavier dinghies such as the Wayfarer. Racing for all classes of boat takes place on Sundays as well as Wednesday evenings during the summer, with additional special events being run throughout the year. Races are fun, safe and well organised, with safety cover provided at all times by volunteer well qualified coxswains. If racing is not your thing you can have a leisurely sail on most days with Windsor Castle as a back drop. Fleets are social and enjoy chatting
