Upper Thames Sailing Club & R Y A Training Centre
We welcome new members at our family-friendly club, whether they be experienced sailors or complete beginners, individuals, couples or families. Our clubhouse in a picturesque riverside setting is perfect for socialising as well as sailing. An RYA-accredited Training Centre, UTSC offers training to all, from complete beginners to those would like to improve their existing sailing skills.

UTSC is located on one of the best sailing reaches on the River Thames, with a mile-long stretch between Bourne End and islands below Marlow Lock, incorporating the widest part of the non-tidal river. The season runs from March to December, with racing on Wednesday evenings and Sundays. You don't have to be a racer - UTSC encourages members and their families to enjoy fun sailing on this safe and picturesque part of the river.
Services
Racing takes place on Sundays throughout the year, with Wednesday evening racing in the season, and casual sailing on Saturdays and Wednesday mornings. We sail Merlin Rockets, OKs, Wayfarers, Thames A Raters and a wide range of boats in the Handicap fleet. Juniors enjoy regular coaching and casual sessions in club Optimists, Toppers and RS Fevas.
UTSC is a recognised RYA training centre and has British Youth Sailing Recognised Club status. The River Thames here is a safe place for people to develop their skills under the guidance of RYA qualified Instructors. We run the RYA adult courses and the RYA Youth scheme dinghy courses as well as powerboat, first aid and safety boat courses.
UTSC welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced sailors, individuals, couples and families. You don't have to have experience in sailing (we have a series of RYA-approved sailing courses for both children from age 8 upwards and adults), nor have to want to race (we have regular 'fun sailing' days for those of you who wish to just cruise up and down the river).

A really friendly club with great atmosphere. The duty system means there is always someone experienced to lend a hand. Lively setting on the Thames with a nice club house, bar and good food. Great selection of club boats including Ok, Wayfarer, Topper and A raters.

Great sailing, open 3 days a week in the summer, with fun social events and food and drink open when the club is. Would recommend for families as it is a great experience.
