Pure Moves
Pure Moves is a friendly Pilates and wellness centre established in 2007 by Liz Chandler, serving Somerset and Wiltshire with dedicated studios in the middle of the lovely town of Frome. The centre is set in a quiet location with its own peaceful garden. Our studios and therapy rooms are comfortable and warm We aim to provide the community with an encouraging and supportive environment for body, mind, health.

We specialise in Pilates but we value the complementary benefits of other disciplines such as Qigong, yoga and meditation, and we run regular Qigong classes and host workshops throughout the year to ensure a rounded experience for our clients. Our classes are taught by the area's leading professionals, our teachers are highly qualified.
Services
You will need a 1:1 session with a teacher before joining if you are new to Pilates, or if you have a health condition or injury. The 1:1 will include an assessment of your fitness and health so we can best address your needs. Learning the principles of Pilates in a 1:1 setting will help you achieve optimum results.
All of our teachers have been through extensive and rigorous Pilates training of over 800 to 1600 hours (not just a weekend). The teachers continue with yearly professional development and all belong to professional bodies that govern Pilates standards and codes of practice.

Our dedicated teachers are passionate about their craft and whether you are considering Pilates for rehabilitation, sport performance enhancement or improved fitness and well being they will help you to progress and achieve your goals.Pure Moves teachers stand out as they have a wealth of specialised training, experience and backgrounds.
We offer Reformer work in either in small groups or a 1:1 setting. With four students per class, Reformer sessions offer high-quality tuition. No prior Pilates experience is needed for 1:1 work. To join a class we ask that people have 6 weeks or more of Pilates mat class or 1:1 experience.

Joe Pilates designed his specialised equipment to provide support for the body during exercise, using tensioned springs to give resistance in order to strengthen and stretch the musculature.The Reformer can be used to assist movement, guiding the body into positions that would normally be difficult to achieve and allowing the muscles and joints to lengthen beyond their usual capacity.
Focusing on maintaining and improving bone density. This class is particularly geared for people who have osteopenia and osteoporosis, with exercise choices that are suitable, safe and effective. Osteoporosis occurs in 50% of all women over 50 years and in 25% of men. Staggeringly as it is not routinely tested for, most people are not aware they have it until experiencing a bone fracture.
Pilates is a method of exercise originating from the work of Joseph Pilates, which in his time he called Contrology. He said, "It is the mind which builds the body." Evidenced by his complete exercise method teaching awareness and control, focused breath work and postural work. Pilates builds your body's core strength, improves flexibility, balance and stamina through a series of low impact conditioning and stretching exercises.

I have attended several workshops for teachers with Liz Chandler and all have been superb. Such a wealth of knowledge imparted with clarity and a mind to practical application. Liz is thorough caring and practical. The last workshop I attended though was just amazing. I learnt techniques that have helped an old shoulder injury which several physios have not been able to help me with. Techniques that I am now using with clients to amazing affect. I cannot recommend Liz enough. She is just brilliant!!

I had a wonderful 1:1 with Liz Chandler today. Some mat pilates and on the reformer. My back feels great and I feel very fluid and relaxed. Can't recommend Puremoves enough for their expertise and determination to make a difference for their clients.

The classes run by Pure Moves are fantastic. Over the past two years I have taken Pilates with three different Pure Moves tutors on different days and evenings when I was free. They were all great, -super professional and fun. There is a lot of individual guidance and advice, and a range of classes for different abilities. I also really like the way they have an online ClassSwap so if you can't make a class you never miss out, you just swap into a different one. Over the past year they have run Zoom classes throughout the lockdowns, this has been a real support and a much better experience than

If you are thinking of taking up Pilates or looking for a new studio I highly recommend Pure Moves. I've been a client for a few years and its a wonderful centre for learning Pilates. The teachers are highly accomplished, professional and encouraging. The studio has a warm, friendly feel and I've made two fantastic new friends within my class!

Pure Moves is an excellent home for the best pilates you will ever experience, with exceptionally highly trained teachers, who are all lovely to boot. The experience is really personal, and you're welcomed into Pure Moves whether in a mat class or a 1 - 1. There are additional studios and services, all in the beautiful studios. Great top of the range equipment, super hygienic too. Absolutely recommended, whether you have never tried pilates, or are a dancer with huge experience of body work. I can't recommend Pure Moves highly enough!

Probably the best Pilates teachers in Frome are on offer here, Liz Chandler is my teacher and is incredibly knowledgeable about the intricate workings of our bodies and her eagle eye spots anyone in her class who could do with adjusting in a position. There are Pilates classes... and there is Pure Moves.

There are a plethora of Pilates teachers around! However, it is very rare to find such high quality ones, which they ALL are at Pure Moves. Every teacher is hand picked by Liz Chandler, the owner. It isn’t just a job to them, their passion and vast knowledge really helps every individual who attends a class.
I have two equipment classes with Trish and Debbie and a mat class with Liz. They are extremely patient and all want us to improve in whatever areas we need to and more. Great camaraderie in the classes, friendships made and we all leave feeling taller, happier and moving better. I really

Liz Chandler is a lifesaver. She has kept me mobile and able to work when physios, chiropractors and osteopaths have failed. I do two classes a week 1 mat and 1 equipment and have found this is perfect for me although I would do another if I could. I feel safe with Liz, she is a hands on teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have recommended her classes to friends and none of them have been disappointed. We go for coffee after the class at Forward Space just above the studio who do a discounted rate for Pure Moves clients, its my reset moment of the week and I love it.
