Stapeley Veterinary Practice
Stapeley Veterinary Practice was founded in 1999 and has steadily developed into a well established farm animal practice. We are situated in a rural area in the beautiful Shropshire hills, close to the Welsh border. Livestock farming is widely practised here and as a practice we have dedicated our work to farm animals. If you need a vet in an emergency, out of hours, day or night, weekday or weekend, on farm or at the practice our vets will provide a prompt response.
Services
After graduating I married Emmy, my aussie wife and we now also have Sophie our daughter who thoroughly enjoys living in Shropshire and ride her pony! Being a grandson of a dairy farmer gave me the love and passion for agriculture and livestock. Still wishing to be a farmer, I now farm around 30 acres of hilly ground where we now run a commercial Zwartbles sheep flock and also have a few Longhorns.
Fertility visits regular farm visits at which breeding cows are examined for post calving disorders, ovarian activity, pregnancy and any required hormonal treatments are done. Ultrasound scanning we have 3 completely mobile scanners to perform rectal pregnancy diagnosis and pick up any uterus and ovarian disorders.
Within our practice team we take a very serious and proactive approach towards all our sheep work. Flock Health Planning and Farm Treatment Protocols This is a farm specific setup with ongoing interaction between the farmer and veterinary surgeon who acts as an advisor. Worming advice, very important with respect to the development of anthelmintic resistance in sheep.
We promise to deliver a professional, personal and consistently high level service to the local farming community. As a practice team, we recognise the importance of internal and external communication, the need to keep improving services and to adapt to future requirements in the livestock sector.
