St Hilda's C Of E Primary School
St Hilda's is a small and welcoming family orientated school with a diverse intake of pupils from different religions and cultural backgrounds. We focus on children 'learning through love'. Each child is recognised as a unique individual and we celebrate the diverse community that we serve. St Hilda's holds a range of events to welcome and appreciate the community, build community spirit and facilitate successful integration in the local area.

We aim for all learners to fulfil their potential and make good progress across the curriculum. The school's focus on curriculum development has been carefully designed to ensure a broad and balanced coverage and pupil progression. Whilst pupil learning is developed through acquiring the appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding, we believe that memorable experiences, trips and visits gender a desire to learn new things and gain knowledge.

My name is Carla McCoy and I am delighted to be writing to you as the newly appointed Headteacher at St Hilda's CE Primary School. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue and build upon the success that the school has already achieved. My philosophy for education is one which is based around the edict of the 'best by every child'.
We are committed to providing a rich curriculum for all learners and maximise learning opportunities through the use of well chosen educational visits, topic related days and after school clubs. We have broken down each of the different subject areas to provide you with helpful advice and further learning opportunities.
The Department for Education state that there is a need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." Here at St Hilda's we are dedicated to promoting British Values and to ensure we prepare our pupils to be global citizens of the future.
We are excited to share our wonderful refurbished Early Years environment. This video will show Mrs Simmons (EYFS Lead / Assistant Head) and Mrs Todd showing you around the setting. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a visit before or after school. While we do encourage faith-based applications, as this is part of the ethos of the school, we also gladly welcome children of different faiths or no specific faith heritage.
The Government is spending over 450 million to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. We believe that sport and PE are extremely important to the physical health and emotional wellbeing of our children. We are dedicated to raising standards in PE and ensuring that more children are becoming more active and engaged in sports.
