Our Ofsted Outstanding rated setting in Tattenhall is based on the main high street of this beautiful rural village. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a healthy and magical place for children to learn and grow. Based in Cholmondeley next to the Cholmondeley Estate Farm shop, this rural setting offers excellent outside space for nursery and preschool children to play and learn.

Services
At Sandy Bears we are registered and regulated by Ofsted meaning we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework throughout all of our rooms and practice. This is a set guideline of milestones within general age rages (for example 16-26 months) that allow key workers to monitor children's progress and development and to effectively plan to ensure your child's progression.
All our staff at Sandy Bears are passionate about children's happiness and engagement in all aspects of their life. Whilst behaviour and respect for their surroundings, peers and adults are important, it is also our goal that children become active in their learning and passionate to discover in their surroundings.
Breakfast club consists of breakfast between 8-8.45 (early starts available), we have a variety of cereals, fruit and continental options available and also more if requested. The children are either walked to school by a familiar member of the staff team who are fully first aid trained. They are then dropped off at their individual classrooms.
We are proud to be a sugar free setting (aside from the occasional sweet baking activities!) Meals will be served in the consistency appropriate to the personal age/stage of your child, this will be discussed regularly with yourselves. We offer a healthy balanced freshly cooked lunch. Options include Thai vegetable curry and rice with a fruit yogurt and cottage pie & vegetables with fairy cake & raisins.
Sandy bears has a beautiful setting, has the added bonus of the forest garden and a fabulous outdoor play area. On top of all that my son absolutely loves it there and has made so much development in all areas. They use an app that's updated throughout the day which really helped me as a parent to transition.

After looking around lots of nursery’s, I instantly loved Sandy Bears the staff are so warm and friendly and all the children were so happy, I knew it was where I wanted my little girl to go. She’s has grown so much since starting Sandy bears. They are always doing so many different and new activities. She absolutely loves it and gets so excited when it’s nursery day.

I was so pleased and releived to find Sandy Bears for my daughter. I'd visited 3 other nurseries and 2 preschools and Sandy Bears stood head and shoulders above them. The environment is open and free for children to explore and learn. Lovely outdoor space with great activities. But most importantly the staff are genuinely caring and warm. Questions and concerns are responded in record time. The staff and management are thoughtful and creative in how they plan for the children's day. My daughter has grown in confidence a great deal and learned a lot since attending there.

We have been sending our little one to Sandy Bears since June and we are thrilled with her development in such a short amount of time. The staff are outstanding and make such an effort everyday... their memories amaze me and they are always welcoming with a smile... it makes me feel very relaxed and reassured. We had the opportunity to send our… eldest child to the summer club over the holidays... again this was just fantastic, the staff making her feel very welcome. Our little boy has been a sandy bear for over a year now. He has come along in leaps and bounds in this time, the activities they do I would never think to do at home, the staff are caring and attentive and I know if he needs a cuddle when he is there he has plenty of arms he can get cuddles from! His key worker laura is fantastic, she took time to… get to know him when she became his keyworker and his likes and dislikes, she spends lots of 1-1 time with him, he has come home some nights talking about his best friend Laura ❤️. It is easy for me to write about Sandy Bears because they are fabulous! My son has been looked after in both the bear cubs and now big bears rooms. He genuinely seems to have a great time every day and this is definitely down to the incredible staff that fill his day with so many activities and challenges. It is lovely to see pictures updated… online with all the things he has been getting up to. Would highly recommend Sandybears, both my children have gone to the setting from being 11months onwards. My little girl is still there. Staff are great, approachable, clearly dearly care about their health, wellbeing and development. If any additional support is required they are keen to support how they can. I love that they go on walks to explore the local community. Activities are well planned out. They also welcome suggestions from families. It’s great to be part of the Sandybears family.

My son and daughter both love Sandy Bears. They always have loads of fun and the activities really encourage the children to explore the world around them and allow them to develop their imaginations. The staff are lovely with all the children and genuinely show an interest in them as individuals, getting to know their personalities, and really… enjoying their company. It definitely isn't just a job to the staff here! They are also great with the parents, giving regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues straight away. I can't fault them!
