LightHearts founder Katya Jezzard-Puyraud is a mental health campaigner, a qualified mindfulness and meditation instructor and a holistic therapist with counselling skills. Katya, who is a registered member of the Complementary Therapists Association, works closely with a cognitive analytic therapist and senior NHS psychiatric nurse to provide mindfulness & mental wellbeing courses for charities, schools and community classes in Kent.
Mindfulness was founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, when he developed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts to treat the chronically ill. Since that time, the practice has yielded such excellent results that it has been adopted in schools, prisons, hospitals and health services around the world.

I have benefitted from a number of therapies with Katya, including most recently her mindfulness class. She is a calming presence in my life & I can’t wait to work with her again post-COVID. In the meantime I have adopted a number of small changes in my life (breathing techniques, focussing on one task at a time without external distractions of music or tv & just generally trying to slow down my busy mind & work through what I am in control of & what I should let go). I would highly recommend LightHearts UK.

I would thoroughly recommend the mindfulness course with Kayta. The course includes various techniques such as breathing exercises, mindful body scans and relaxation sessions and I am now able to independently choose a session - depending on my mood - to improve my day. Katya is a beautiful soul, her manner makes you relax immediately and feel totally comfortable, this is a skill in itself! The LightHearts UK resource is an amazing platform, with well thought out practices and easy sessions to dip in and out of. It really does offer something for everyone. Thank you Kayta!

I did a 6 week Mindfulness course with Katya at LightHearts UK which has helped me so much and I am so grateful to her for the gift of not feeling guilty about taking time for myself - we all need to learn to love ourselves and forgive ourselves and the kind and insightful way Katya goes about this has been a revelation to me. Katya has worked wonders for my aches and pains in my back and shoulders. After a bout of flu and feeling unwell for weeks, after just 2 sessions, I felt so much better. Katya is a warm and welcoming, and within a very peaceful environment has the magic touch - I highly recommend a visit as it's great for general well being.

Katya at LightHearts UK was such a welcoming, friendly and calming lady and made me feel at ease right away when I arrived for my massage. The consultation at the beginning addressed all of my needs, the treatment itself was incredible and very relaxing and I look forward to my next treatment with her! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
