Services
We believe in recognising people as unique individuals and not as a diagnosis or a label and that empowerment is key in recovery and maintaining wellbeing. Mid-Kent Mind work in the community to promote social inclusion for people who experience mental health problems. We strive to tackle stigma and discrimination through a number of projects that promote a better understanding of mental health.
I have worked within the voluntary sector for over 15 years, initially within youth provision before moving to a management position within a Charity infrastructure support organisation providing funding support, project management, volunteer support and community development.

I joined Mid Kent Mind in 2014, and in this time the organisation has undergone a major refurbishment, grow in size, extended services both geographically and in age range, diversified services, yet throughout has remained focused in delivering our core objective of supporting people with mental health problems.
Zak Khan recently joined MK Mind as a Trustee in 2019. With his career in Kent Police, Zak has been confronted with mental health issues on an almost daily basis. Zak brings wide-ranging knowledge to the Board through his academic studies, comprising an MA in Human Rights, together with his involvement in a variety of strategic roles, including as a Governor of a local secondary school.
A project with North Kent Mind, supported by the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner and National Mind that reduces the Police resources tied up on mental health related calls. Two nights each week MMK Mind and North Kent Mind work in partnership with Kent Police by providing a trained mental health worker to offer support and advice within the Kent Police Control Room.
Youth Resilience UK are a UK-based organisation who work with young people to support processes such as Restorative Justice in addition to providing special education about specific topics for students and young people across the country. All services are aimed at supporting young people as they build strength and resilience whilst developing a better understanding of the issues faced in everyday life.

I am very grateful to Mid Kent Mind. Their low-cost counseling program helped me a lot to understand myself better. Lisa was an excellent counselor during the six sessions I had with her. I definitely recommend this place.

I was fortunate enough to be allocated counselling sessions of which I attended 2. However, I felt I wasn't quite ready as I wasn't comfortable addressing certain issues at the moment. I therefore, emailed my counsellor to explain & requested a break in the sessions to perhaps allow me time to be in a better place to discuss my problems fully.
Unfortunately she never responded & just sent me a computer generated appointment for the following week. I then text her with the same message hoping she would get back to me, as I didn't want to jeopardise my remaining allocated sessions, as I was eager

I have been attending Mind for two sessions so far and I have been very impressed with the whole service. Each time I've been welcomed with a smile at the door and been made to feel fully at ease by all staff interactions. My 1:1 councellor Jerry is brilliant. He has already began to make me feel supported, cared for and he makes me comfortable when discussing difficult subjects. His approach has made me for the first time in my recovery feel more grounded and centered. I am already looking forward to my next session. Thank you.

I attended a Mental Health Awareness course here a little while ago. There is no parking on site but easy access by public transport and a number of car parks within eady walking distance. The facilities were good and the staff (volunteers?) friendly and helpful. The course itself was professionally presented and varied with the opportunity for individual input and group discussion. An extremely rewarding experience.

The Service is Quick and Efficient. With Plenty of Room to Sit Inside. They have a wide Range of various Coffees. The Taste and Quality of Cappuccino's that I Order are a good Rich Flavour that is Strong, which I like Very much. One can purchase various sizes of Coffee from Small, Medium and Large, so the Cost varies to suit your pocket.
The Staff are Friendly, warm, and Welcoming.
There is also an Outside area to sit and enjoy the Surrounding area. Also, One can Smoke Outside. An Overall good Experience.
