Services
Fernwood was purchased by Ranch Caravan Parks Ltd during the 1960's when it was 66 acres of beautiful woodland and open countryside. It has been sympathetically developed to retain the beauty of its natural surroundings, and is greatly enhanced by the man made lake, which offers enjoyable fishing for all ages.
Our Park shop stocks Calor Gas, a range of groceries, toiletries, soft drinks, sweets, ice cream and newspapers. Adjacent to the shop is a public telephone and nearby, a laundrette with large coin operated washing machines, tumble driers and ironing facilities. There is a play area for children with swings, baby swings, slide and climbing frame and plenty of open space for recreation.

This was our 5th annual summer break at Fernwood. We stayed for 7 nights in our touring caravan on a multi serviced hard standing pitch.
We always feel so relaxed when we drive through the threshold of Fernwood and are always amazed at how immaculate it is kept. The team at Fernwood always work so hard and nothing is ever too much trouble, Judith and Steph are always so happy and welcoming, and the guys who maintain the grounds always give a smile and a wave to us and the children as they pass on their lawnmowers etc !
We needed Gas as we were close to running out , so we asked Judith if they

We visited this campsite for the weekend with my sister and we borrowed my in-laws motorcaravan. I have many fond childhood memories of the place as my Grandmas and Grandad had a static here when we were kids. Great campsite which is well maintained and been developed over the years beautifully. Great kids play area too. Really quiet and relaxing but we didn’t feel we had to be ‘hush hush’ with the kids who were with us so they could still run round and enjoy themselves too. Really clean too with hand sanitiser etc on the children’s playground. Really recommend to others and will defo return

Spent 2 nights in one of the caravans you can rent, fantastic caravan and the kids loved it. Brother in law and sister in law have a caravan here and they love it. Fantastic site and just let the kids aged 8 and 5 go to the park by themselves knowing that they'd be safe without having to watch them which you can't really do these days. Gives them that little bit of independence and makes them feel more grown up. Would definitely come back here again.

We have just returned from a weekend break at Fernwood. Let's start at the beginning..........the approach into the park is meticulously maintained. We were greeted on arrival by the owner and shown to our pitch. Judith is a truly lovely lady, very friendly and extremely helpful. The site is beautifully laid out, all pitches are spacious, the facilities are superbly clean and there is loads of walking around the lake, in the woods, or just around the site. Newspapers are available to order, there is a play area for children, a launderette and a payphone. The only thing lacking was wi-fi, but who
