Services
Yoga is a philosophy of life, which also has the potential to create a vibrantly healthy body and mind. Practised in its correct sequential order, astanga (pronounced 'ash - tan - ga') yoga gradually leads the practitioner to rediscover his or her fullest potential on all levels of human consciousness: physical, psychological and spiritual.
We teach astanga yoga in a traditional method known as 'Mysore self-practice', which originated in Mysore, South India. Students practise at their own pace with advice and sometimes adjustments given by the teacher. Practice length can vary from between 40 minutes to an hour and 40 minutes. Classes run every morning from Sunday to Friday and in the evenings from Monday to Friday, apart from on moon days (days when there is a new or a full moon).
If you've never seen a Mysore self-practice class in action before, we will invite you to come and observe first so you can meet your teacher, get a feel for how it all works, and ask any questions you may have before deciding whether it's right for you. A Mysore self-practice class is the perfect environment in which to start astanga yoga.
Our payment system is called Fair exchange. We recognise people have different financial resources so we have a flexible system that is built on trust, value and inclusivity. Our teachers, students and staff are equally what makes Astanga Yoga London special. We encourage students to value the teacher/student relationship and appreciate the space we have created.

This is my HAPPY PLACE! I found the Shala a few years ago and fell in love with practicing there. The space is humble and calming and the teachers are knowledgeable and encouraging. I'd thoroughly recommend this place for complete beginners right through to experienced practitioners!
