The Blandford Fashion Museum
We are always looking for volunteers to help with stewarding and in the tea-room, as well as to join our behind the scenes staff. If you might be interested, please email us on volunteer@blandfordfashionmuseum.co.uk. You don't need any particular expertise, but if you have some that you think may be relevant, do let us know.

For information about becoming a Friend of the Museum, which includes free access and discounts to our events, please email friends@blandfordfashionmuseum.co.uk. We have a number of small projects, such as conservation work, for which we are currently seeking sponsorship. Details of these will be posted here in due course, but in the meantime please email us on sponsors@blandfordfashionmuseum.co.uk if you would be interested.
Services
The late Mrs. Betty Penny MBE founded the Blandford Fashion museum, located in Lime Tree House, in 1996. The house is a beautiful Georgian property in Blandford Forum, built by John and William Bastard after the town's Great Fire in 1731. Mrs. Penny's collection of costumes, known locally as the Cavalcade of Costume, form the nucleus of the present collection.

This is a gem of a museum in the heart of Georgian Blandford Forum. The collection of dress from the eighteenth century to 1990 is carefully and accessibly curated so that the visitor can get an insight in the history behind the garments selected for display. There is a very friendly and comfortable tea room to visit aftewards. Probably the most authentic Georgian style experience in this town.

I’ve been taking school trips to the Blandford Fashion Museum for over 20 years. The children really enjoy it and learn so much. The staff are wonderful! Friendly and very helpful. Their dedication and passion to this gem of a museum is obvious. Every time I go, they always have something new to see. Highly recommended.

For all those budding fashionistas. ..fashion from so many eras, all set in a beautiful Georgian house. My favorites being from the 1920s upwards. Amazing how these things survive !.take yourself into the tearoom to gather yourself with a cuppa before you tackle the town !
