The restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere, it's not exactly cheap so I think it should have some nice touches as opposed to for example, very basic furniture. Saying that, the food is really nice. I had the mussel platter and it was delicious, good value too. The place is a decent choice for seafood if you're not after any fancy dining experience

I was craving for some seafood and this place was one of the highest rated. Pretty close to all the tourist attractions.

I did the lunch special thing which was like a bowl of mussels and choice of fries or salad -- so not a hard decision at all, I went with the fries. And I also got the seafood pasta.

First off, I regret doing the lunch special because the bowl of mussels was a tiny portion and the fries weren't that great. And it's hard to make fries that aren't great. I would've just gotten a bucket of mussels instead. I'm typically not a huge fan of mussels either

Staff are really attentive. Place is spotless. I always order the same 1/2 kilo shallot in white wine. You get a complimentary wee basket of bread and butter.
They only do coke/diet coke. No diet pepsi or pepsi Max 😭 offer a good range of tea. They also offer some dishes that aren't mussels so worth checking their website.
They used to do a fab pear cheesecake but that has changed to something else (I am a fussy riot). Author half got the dessert and really liked it.

Tried the mussel inn today as fancied a wee change and we weren't disappointed. A warm welcome as we walked in and we were shown to our table the staff took our drinks order and our drinks promptly arrived. We had both tucked into our starters before I thought about taking a picture to share as the smell was amazing and we were both hungry. The cajun squid was cooked to perfection as were the shallot mussels. Then the seafood platter's arrived and as well as being visually delightful the flavours of all components were equally delicious too. The staff were friendly and very professional. I would

Great Quality Seafood
Mussel Inn has been one of our regular eating spots for the past 3 years and has always delivered a great atmosphere, tasty dishes and personal customer service.
The pre-theatre menu offers a summary of the A la carte menu with 2 or 3 dishes for set prices.
We ordered the chowder, fish and chips, crab rolls and mushroom pasta.
The dishes were presented well and the taste was incredible especially the crab rolls which had a hint of annis which I personally don't like but this dish changed my mind and I loved it. Of course the chowder and fish and chips were delicious.

I knew I wanted some good seafood while visiting Edinburgh. I stumbled upon Mussel Inn while researching online before our trip and made a reservation. We arrived earlier than our reservation time but they were able to take us to our table. We tried some oysters as an appetizer. This was my first tome trying oysters so I didn't have anything to compare it to but they were good. For our meal, we both ordered an 1/2 kg of mussels. I've never ordered mussels like this before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a ton of food and really great value. We loved both mussel pots (shallot

We ordered a lunch special which is the seafood chowder with fries and a 1/2 kg steamed mussels. Both are very delicious. Mussels are fresh. The reason I only give four instead of five stars is because the soup is a little bit salty to me. Other than that everything is great.

This is THE place to eat mussels. Tried the one with white wine sauce and another with blue cheese. Both were great. The mussels were plump and fresh. Very little of that muddy smell that you might sometime find in less fresh mussels. Personally, I prefer the white wine sauce given the delicate taste of the mussels. The blue cheese sauce is great but I prefer a slightly less overwhelming sauce. The restaurant is simple yet tastefully decorated with an open kitchen to see the chefs at work. This makes perfect sense as the best way to eat mussels is simply to use your hands. For this I rather have

We stopped in on a recommendation of the sales folks at TK Maxx. They said, "walk down Rose Street to Mussel Inn and hope for a table". We got the last table for lunch. Patricia was our server, she was so helpful and happy. We ordered the crayfish salad special, and two of the daily specials: Mussels and salad; Seafood Chowder and fries. Our tummies were filled with deliciousness. Just a delightful afternoon!

We tried to get in on. Sunsay but it was booked and based on the reviews and the menu, we weren't surprised. When we did get in this evening, we were somewhat let down. We weren't given much of a chance to linger over our meal as thjngs came too promptly. Oddly, we waited 15 minutes for the check.

The scallops were tasty and filling while thentiger prawns were merely okay. The desserts erre bettrr although the rocky road parfait lacked rocks and was jot jn a parfait glass, more like slices of ice cream stacked one atop the other.

Our staff was quick and efficient althogh not terribly

A few of my friends recommended the Mussel Inn, a restaurant that specializes in seafood. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating.

For drinks, they had wine, beer, liquer, non alcoholic beverages, and after night drinks. We shared a bottle of Chardonnay, Macon Village. In addition to wine, I ordered a Thistly Cross Cider, which was sweet, tart, and smooth. It reminded me of Angry Orchard Hard Cider.

For dinner, I wanted the Special of the Day: Grilled Seabream Fillet Served on a Mixed Seafood Risotto but it was sold out. I ended up getting a Seafood Chowder and Caesar Salad. The Seafood

When my friend and I decided to visit Edinburgh for a long weekend, I looked at places we would visit and eat at. Mussell inn was top of our list!

I'd been here twice before, but my friend had never been, so on the day of arrival, the hotel concierge directed us to the restaurant which was in walking distance from the Waldorf Astoria.

But we found it wasn't open yet (think they close between 3-5pm) so we went to a coffee shop for a while.

When they opened, we went in and having not booked a table, they gave us a table but said we only had two hours. That was fine.

We ordered starters
