Osteopathy offers diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of problems associated with disturbances of the body's framework, whether they be due to injury, stress or other causes. Alison Allott is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and has been practising for over thirty years since she qualified from The British School of Osteopathy in 1983.

She initially practised for seven years in South East England before moving to Shrewsbury, Shropshire and started her own practice in 1990. The osteopath makes a careful assessment of joint mobility by touch and observation, together with an examination of the surrounding muscles. The osteopath then attempts to resolve mechanical problems that hinder the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Services
People of all ages can benefit because treatment is tailored to the individual and not solely to the disease. Many people refer themselves directly without consulting their GP. Registered osteopaths are trained to assess whether osteopathy would be appropriate for a particular patient or whether they should be referred to their GP for some other form of treatment or for X-rays or blood tests.
The first appointment is likely to take about an hour. Initially you will be asked about your symptoms, when and how they began, and what makes them better or worse. You will be asked about your general health and past medical health. Next you will be examined. This is likely to start with a neurological assessment and orthopaedic examination.
Your call will be returned promptly if we are unable to respond immediately. You may like to telephone to discuss whether osteopathy would be appropriate for your condition. Many health insurance companies including BUPA and AXA-PPP will cover the cost of treatment at this practice. Your company will provide you with an authorisation number.

Alison's treatments are really effective. She is an understanding person and an excellent osteopath and is able to zone in to the area (or areas) that need/s attention. Great results and you are given back a good quality of life.

Excellent osteopath. A sympathetic, knowledgable, effective practitioner who really listens. Fixed my long-standing back problem in just a few sessions. I heartily recommend.
