Our aim is to make sure you have fun and enjoy your riding and most importantly ensure that you are safe. Your safety is our main priority but remember horses are unpredictable animals and you ride at your own risk. Here at the Bit we have a wealth of teaching experience available for all standards of riding.
Even if you are a complete beginner we have excellent horses and ponies to help you gain confidence and develop. If you call us on 01628 661275 we will be happy to advise you on the most appropriate lesson to get you started. If you're stuck finding a Birthday present for someone, how about a voucher to ride at the Spanish Bit!

Services
We are a centre membership for the Pony Club which was put together by the Pony Club specifically for children without their own ponies. This enables children who want to come along and learn a lot more about ponies and they are then tested and receive badges for riding and stable management. There are 30 achievement badges and we hold lectures and tests on a regular basis.
The Spanish Bit Riding School is situated on Dorney Common. Directions are as follows from the M4 junction 7. Turn left towards Maidenhead (A4). When you reach the roundabout at Sainsbury's turn left (A355). This will take you through Dorney village towards Eton. When you cross the cattle grid take the 1st turning right into Boveney.

I learned to ride and work at Spanish bit in 1975 so 45 years on you are still going which shows the quality service offered. I went on to own horses in the Uk so thank you for everything. I am now a riding coach and president of Riding For Disabled in Richmond NSW Australia. I used to love the canters across the wick at Eton fond memories.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value
I recently visited with my daughter for a hack, having not been on a horse myself in two years the team were really lovely. We had a great time and look forward to revisiting soon. The horses were clearly well loved, they provided boots and hats, and the ladies who took us on our hack were really friendly.

The Spanish Bit is a wonderful riding school and livery. Horses that are beautifully looked after, friendly and professional staff and instructors and all in all a superb environment. I love going and highly recommend to anyone. The instructors have brought my riding on beyond my imagination. Thank you Jill, Hayley and all at the Spanish Bit xx

I would not recommend this Riding school to anyone. My daughters took independent lessons to get the necessary skills to join a group class which they did and then enjoyed the group class for several terms. However, members of the group have moved on leaving only my two daughters in the group. We were asked to move to a Thursday class but we are unable to do so. Net net, my eldest who is nine years old was reduced to tears by her teacher whilst being made to ride a particularly difficult horse (he just doesn’t want to move and should be put out to pasture) and now no longer wants to horse ride

This is one place we trust with taking care of our daughter. There is discipline, respect and we feel we are getting more than we are paying for.
She thoroughly enjoys the lessons and she is progressing nicely. She is for more than two years with this school.
I think that discipline is needed when working with children and animals that can pose a danger to children and I love the way they are running the place.
I am sad that some people don't appreciate the place, I guess horse riding British stile is not for everyone.
Please keep it up and don't get discouraged by people who want you to change

My daughters and I have recently started riding at the Spanish Bit. I have to say that the staff are very friendly and great with the children. I've tried other schools and have felt they can be quite exclusive but that's not the case here. They enjoy teaching and it's clear they all love the horses and ponies. The animals welfare comes first and the facilities are great. I'd highly recommend.

I understand that everyone has different experiences of riding at different stables but I can say pretty confidently that as someone who rides reguarly with Spanish bit that they are the nicest, most approachable people I have ever met. Their horses are always very well looked after and they could not be more helpful and supportive particularly if you're a novice/intermediate rider. I have been riding there atleast twice a week for almost a year now and find their teachers, lessons and the general community feel of the place to be wonderful and welcoming.
