Dulwich Riding School
He founded the riding school in 1961 and built it up from what was a demolition site into the high class respected school that it became. Jim was born in Brixton, into a non-horsy background. A local horse dealer took him under his wing and proceeded to teach the eager young pupil everything he knew about the 'horse game'.

War service intervened for Jim and when he was demobbed he began selling fruit and vegetables from a horse and London Trolley around the streets of South London. He bought his horses and harness at the long defunct Horse Repository at the Elephant and Castle - he had a wonderful eye for spotting a horse in the rough; naturally buying for the lowest possible price!

This is a Family run professional horse riding school, warm welcoming and inviting. You Can see that the people who work there are all about the horses and there well being.
Knowledge throughout the staff from the top management all the way down to the helpers and Volunteers.
I have been going to Dulwich for a number of years and started out never sitting on a horse to being a confident walk trot canter rider in a short period of time with help support and many thanks to the instructors. Horses themselves are all very friendly and gentle to there riders and teach you in different ways and build

This riding school has taught me everything i know from riding to stable management. The riding school has been a great place for me to forget about everything that stresses me out and just have fun whilst learning so much. I started out as a complete beginner, i knew absolutely nothing about horses from now taking a level three equine management course. Because of this riding school I've taken a major interest in the equine industry. The staff here are so understanding and friendly they're always giving us new challenges helping us improve whilst working to the best of our ability. I've made so

I have been riding here for almost three years now, the horse, staff and whole atmosphere has built up my confidence working with and riding horses whilst teaching me other valuable skills as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone, the customer service is great and the horses are treated well. The lessons are well instructed leaving customers happy and experienced. All the staff at the stables take goood care of the horses and make sure their needs are attended to. This is a great overall environment to learn how to ride or to work with horses and can accommodate people of every age. Would

This is a wonderful riding school, my daughter has been taking lessons for over a year and would go every day if she could. The owner and staff are kind and professional and the teaching is excellent. It's clear how much everyone at Dulwich Riding School want to share their love of horses, and the horses themselves are brilliant and extremely well cared for. Highly recommended.

I have always been provided with a high quality of service by the staff at Dulwich riding school. Positive attitudes and strong clear communication between the team is always noticed- I believe this helps them to stride as a professional riding centre.
Every horse that I have had the pleasure of riding has been matched to suit my ability, meaning my lessons are specifically tailored to increase my ability and knowledge!
I know I will be booking in again as soon I am able to!!
Keep up the good work!

By far, the top riding school in London!
Dulwich Riding School is a special place, where as soon as you leave the premises, you just want to go back!
It has both a indoor and outdoor arena so whatever the weather, you can ride comfortably!
The stables are cleaned out numerous times a day and the yards are always kept tidy.
It has a great history to present, the grandfather of the current manageress built the riding school!
Prices are affordable and extremely competitive, unlike most riding schools, they offer full 1 hour lessons.
They are very accommodating and ensure all riders are at ease

Dulwich riding stables is one of the best yards my family and I rode at, especially in London.
The yard is so well kept, clean and tidy.
All staff and helpers are well trained and full of knowledge.
The horses are so well looked after and they are not worked into the ground like other riding schools.
They have a great range of horses from total beginners to the very advanced. So everyone can be catered for.
I always highly recommend Dulwich riding school for anyone who asks.

I came back to riding as an older woman in her sixties after a break in her teens a few years ago. The staff and horses are great. I've learnt such a lot and had a great time. It's been so good to have a couple of lessons post lockdown. Thanks to Kash and Ellie and Ella - I hope! Both sessions were a bit warm for Kash and I but it's been so good to be on horseback again. See you soon.
