The intertwining of Portugal and India began in 1505. These two cultures, each with their own respective customs and traditions (the Portuguese with their fiery thirst for life, and Indians with their relentless spirituality), resulted in a new fiery, high-spirited people, the Luso-Indians. To celebrate the union of these two cultures, we've created something Birmingham hasn't seen before - Estado da India.

I loved my meal here. The food, service, welcome and drinks were all exceptional. The menu is interesting with choices that go far beyond what you'd usually see. Our waiter talked us through the options and curated some great choices for us all and to complement each other.
My starter of soft shell crab was cooked perfectly, so as to be light yet crisp. My lamb shank main a highlight. It was tender, rich and tasty meat with delicate spicing. The daal accompanying it was perfect.
I'd especially mention the tasty veggie side dishes and wide choice of breads.
The wine list was competitively priced

This is clearly the best indian restaurant by far that we have visited over the years. Absolutely great and worth a detour.
We were with a large party and we received a warm welcome and the seating in the restaurant gave us a feel of sitting comfortable in our living room. We had a vegetarian lunch. The starters were delicious and of the main dishes mouthwatering. The absolute best was their sweet potato kofta and thier dhal makhani.
Also desserts were original and very enjoyable.
We would highly recommend this restaurant.

From the service to the food, everything was spot on. We arrived on time and was brought to a nice table by a friendly waiter who was attentive throughout the evening. Food was ordered and brought to the table in a speedy fashion. All very nice. I enjoyed my soft shell crabs and coconuty curry! 10/10. Oh and get the cocktails too!

Extremely impressed! Amazing cocktails (their espresso martinis with a twist 😍) and amazing food. Does not leave you feeling rough the next day as with most Indian food, which is a testament to the quality of ingredients used. Finally we had the Bombay Mess for desert. As someone who’s not normally a desert person, this was the standout dish.
It’s hard to do something different and good with Indian food but these guys are smashing it.

Super impressed with our experience today at Lasan. Service staff was professional and provided us with an extremely welcoming and warm experience.
We enjoyed the cocktails, champagne and wine selection. The selection accompanied extremely well the food menu. Food was absolutely amazing it was definitely another level compared to the Indian restaurants in London that we frequent. The roomali roti, goat briyani and lamb rogan josh were our favourites.
We will definitely be back for more next we are in Birmingham. Great reason to pop by when we are travel pass the midlands ;-)
