Tennants Arms Hotel
We invite you to eat, sleep and discover the Yorkshire Dales with The Tennants Arms Hotel as your base. Enjoy our traditional country inn with 10 boutique hotel rooms. Situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the beautiful village of Kilnsey, nestled beneath Kilnsey Crag, our guests are granted spectacular views over the Dales countryside.

The hostelry was once an important coaching stop on the busy route from Richmond to London and retains much of it's authentic rustic charm. The 'back road' from Grassington to Kettlewell, passing through Conistone, is designated as a cycleway, and from time to time is used for internationally acclaimed cycle races.
Services
Establishing a reputation as one of Wharfedale's premier gastro pub destinations, The Tennants Arms enjoys culinary praise under the direction of its owner and Executive Chef Tom Garland-Jones, who brings international expertise and experience at Michelin-star establishments to the table.

Open for lunch and dinner within this luxury boutique hotel, the restaurant serves locally sourced Yorkshire Dales produce alongside a good range of cask ales and fine wines. With a creative approach offering quality, home-cooked fayre, dishes are prepared from scratch by talented chefs and served straight to your table.
Located in Kilnsey, between the quintessential North Yorkshire towns of Hawes and Grassington, you'll be well placed for discovering the rural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park all year round. We are delighted to welcome your four-legged friends with you on holiday at an added rate of 8 per dog per night.
Welcome to our All Things Wild and Wonderful adventures for 2020, in collaboration with Kilnsey Park Estate and the Kilnsey Trekking & Riding Centre. On the fourth Thursday of the month Chef Thomas Beard creates a culinary discovery over 6 courses, using local ingredients from the Yorkshire Dales and pairing these with contemporary combinations.
A little over an hour drive north of Leeds, a car is the best way to get around the area - set the satnav to BD23 5PS. Manchester is 90 minutes away, Liverpool is nearly two hours drive, and London is a five-hour journey. If you opt to visit by train, head for Skipton, which is a 20-minute taxi ride through 12 miles of stunning scenery from the hotel.
Garland-Jones Catering is a privately owned company by the chef-proprietor of The Tennants Arms Hotel, Tom Garland-Jones. Outside catering and private events became a natural growth area for us, stemming from the numerous marquee wedding celebrations held each summer on the Kilnsey Park Estate fields opposite our hotel.

Cancelled booking without letting me know...not even an email and supposed to be staying there tomorrow! No reason or nothing... a simple email would of been nice!

I wish I could give this 0 starts it doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I arrived at the hotel 05/09/2021 for a 3 night stay to find the hotel completely empty and sign on a door saying due to lack of staff it’s closed till further notice! I drove 5 hours to get there, I didn’t even get a phone call or a email to inform us, plus we had paid in full!! Absolutely disgusting, Iv found even more people online complaining of the exact same situation! I can’t believe the owner of this hotel can do that to people. Avoid booking this hotel!!!

Basic. We booked a family room, which consisted of, 3 beds, one double and 2 singles. Not much space for manoeuvre, we found it a little claustrophobic. Didn't enjoy the food here either, really poor. Thankfully we found a lovely place to eat *The Devonshire* in Grassington, food was superb 👌🏼 our only regret was, we didn't book The Devonshire for our little break, but at least we know now.

We just ate at the Tennants Arms and the meal was excellent - I had the sea bass on mint and pea risotto and my partner ate the vegetarian dish, which was more interesting than vegetarian options usually are in many other places … the Malbec was also of a high quality, and the staff were lovely and welcoming … thank you ..

What a place to have a drink and some food after a gorgeous walk in the Dales!
The food is incredible, we had Gnocchi, trout carbonara, the 1994 burger and a beef dish, which names eludes me (as I didn't order it, but did taste it!) and they were all delicious.
The service was great and the staff were super friendly. Take me back to The Tennants Arms 😍
