Based at the marina for over 20 years, Liverpool Yacht Club have an all-year round racing programme and an active cruising section. Join the crew of a racing yacht and experience the thrill of sailing right in the heart of Liverpool. The club races most weekends on a Saturday and a Sunday, based upon the tides, and there are usually yachts looking for extra crew.
Please enquire via the Contact Us page and we will introduce you to the skippers who are looking for crew. Great sailing for everyone from complete beginner to advanced sailors. Dinghies sail most Saturdays from April to the end of October. Sail around the world as well as much closer to home.

On the day we also held a collection for the RNLI in addition to donating all race fees collected on the day. A total of 257.10 was collected. Many thanks to all those who contributed! Despite a low turn out, 3 yachts from each club, we enjoyed a great weekend of racing. Saturday was dominated by heavier than forecast winds, rising to 30+Kts.
The Lyver Trophy race was first introduced as a bi-annual race by Gordon Dewar from Liverpool Yacht Club, as a joint initiative with the Royal Dee Yacht Club. The aim is to provice a R.O.R.C. Fastnet qualifying race for boats based in ports around the North West, including Liverpool, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Pwllheli, Holyhead and the Irish ports.
The Isle of Man Midnight race has a proud heritage, which celebrated its 100th race in 2019. With regret, the pandemic saw this prestigious race cancelled for 2020 & 2021 so we look forward to its return in 2022. Many distinguished guests attended the very first Isle of Man Midnight race, including the Lord Mayor of Wirral.
