Services
An eye examination is normally recommended every 2 years for an adult and annually for children. Of course, if you have any concerns about your vision or comfort of your eyes you should attend for a check up. During your eye test we will carefully measure the prescription required to give you clear and comfortable vision.
Dry eye syndrome is a common condition that occurs either when the eye does not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly. It can lead to a gritty, stinging or burning feeling in the eyes. Sometimes the eyes can actually feel watery, but the tears that are produced do not wet the surface of the eye effectively and so do not alleviate the symptoms.
Are you having difficulties reading or are you the parent of a child who appears to be struggling? Visual stress or Meares- Irlen syndrome could be the cause. It is thought to be due to over stimulation of the visual cortex when viewing high contrast patterns and can cause problems when reading in those susceptible.
Contact lenses are more comfortable than ever to wear and offer freedom from glasses. Lenses to suit nearly all prescriptions can be fitted and very often you can take a pair of lenses after your consultation as a trial. Most lenses are available on a planned replacement scheme and can be collected from the practice or delivered to your home or work.

Phil James @Jubilee Opticians provides a fast & outstanding service. He & his staff are professional polite friendly and thorough. I have been seeing him for at least two decades on and off, trying the big chains when moving out of the area. I found the personal touch and after care lacking with such establishments & reverted back to honest Phil, where the personal touch and after care is outstanding! We have used this optician for years. They are very welcoming, friendly and provide great advice without breaking the bank. The service is excellent, with patient's interest at heart. We make longer journey to see them for regular checks although no longer live nearby. The optician is very thorough with eye testing and wonderfully patient with children. The glasses, I got from them were reasonably priced, but fitted perfectly and did the job to my satisfaction for years afterwards. After bending them out of shape, by sitting on them, the optician corrected and fixed back to sitting snugly on my
