Before the match proper we had a spider contest with a prize of a bottle of whiskey donated by our President & Chairman Mike Sheahan - and won by one of our own bowlers Jo Gable (that's the second one she has won this year). There followed a 6 - rink match against the visitors that included players of all ages from around the country and led by captain Richard Somerton (Bowls Northamptonshire Match Secretary).
We won on one rink and managed to keep our losses down to a respectable level on the other 5 rinks. For the 2021 season the club will open from the last week of April till the first week of October. Normal opening times are from 12 noon to about 10 pm for matches and casual play. It is expected that our Friday evening get-together (6.30pm - 8.30pm) for drawn team play will continue.

The sport is played around the world by juniors and adults and of any gender. It is probably the only sport in which an an 8 year old can play an 80+ year old and the odds are even. Recent changes to both the clothing worn and the colourful bowls that can now be used have added to the attraction of this now modern sport.
1/ 80 - for Full members - this includes 7.50 affiliation fees we have to pay to Bowls England/Bowls Northamptonshire. Membership of the Club (options 1, 2 & 3) enables the member to play bowls during the outdoor season as well as short mat bowling and kurling in the clubhouse during the winter months.
For 2021 Bowls Northamptonshire has suggested a change to the tradition of providing a post-match meal with club fixtures. Most clubs in the County, including Kislingbury BC, now charge a green fee of 3 per player (4 including raffle) for most of its club fixtures instead of a match fee that includes a meal.
