Services
We want you to enjoy the thrill of buying at auction, whether you are a novice buyer or an auction pro. We hold a number of different sorts of auctions including live, sealed bid and online auctions. The buyer's premium payable by the buyer of each lot is at a rate of 25% on the first 250,000 and 20% on the amount by which the hammer price exceeds 250,000, plus an amount in respect of VAT thereon (see below).
Our Live Auctions take place on Tuesdays. Auction Lots are available to view from the Sunday preceding the auction. Viewing prior to this may be possible by private appointment. The auction takes place in our purpose built gallery and saleroom with each lot displayed on a plasma screen as it is sold.
Beautiful minerals and fossils, hundreds of millions of years old from around the world, together with natural history specimens. Mother Nature at her best!.

Spanning billions of years, from the earth's earliest life forms, stomatolites, through to the 20th century and encompassing, minerals, fossils, taxidermy and other natural history specimens, there is an incredible diversity of objects made by Mother Nature which takes the old game of Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral to dizzy new heights!
One of the advantages of our auction house is that we have sufficient space to store and display large items, both indoors and out. In this section, which definitely caters for "Toys for Boys" you will have the opportunity to buy pieces you never expected you could own. Not every house can accommodate a Soviet Cold War era 45ft long scramjet rocket, but it still found a good home in one of our recent auctions.
Complementing our outside lots of garden statuary, we sell a wide variety of interior pieces. Period lighting is increasingly popular from Georgian hall lanterns through to 1970's chandeliers and wall lights. Contrary to the lamentable present day values of 19th century wood furniture, cast iron stick and hall stands, tables and even humble boot scrapers continue to be in demand and are well represented in our sales.

Whether buying or selling SPA have professionalism with friendly conviviality at every step of any transaction. Knowing everyone here for many years we are delighted to support the team with this review. We have been associating as customer and client for more than a few decades with members of the team as SPA through transitional years of Sotheby's and way back to last century and the mid seventies, so we can speak with authority 'excellent people to do business with’.

The new, themed on-line sales show how creative and imaginative Summers Place Auctions is: an auction house with vision. If only I'd bet more than 50 pence on the 2,000 Guineas winner at Newmarket, I would have enough cash to buy the reclining panther. Would it fit in my Christmas stocking?
