Mid Cheshire MIND is an independent local charity. The aim of our work is to help people build on their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become more in control of their lives. We can offer support to anyone from the Mid Cheshire area who may suffer from a mental health problem, whether this has been diagnosed or not.
We believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We listen, give support and advice, and fight for those who need our help. We offer ongoing support through our drop-in centre with weekly support activities that encourage and promote positive wellbeing and improvements in mental health.

Services
A volunteer is someone who freely commits their time and energy for the benefit of others in the community. They do so by choice and without concern for personal gain. Volunteers contribute hundreds of hours to Mid Cheshire Mind each year and we couldn't operate without their support.
They can teach IT skills, arts and crafts, organise events and activities, hand hold people in crisis, research new projects, undertake admin tasks, work in the shop, help with outreach work and much, much more.People apply to become volunteers with us for many different reasons. It may be to help others, or to meet new people and become actively involved within their own community.

To reduce the likelihood of recurrence of mental health problems by offering support to individuals who are living in the community area of Mid Cheshire or preparing for hospital discharge. To encourage individuals to be valued members of their community by supporting them in using their local resources.
In many ways, mental health is just like physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it. Good mental health means being generally able to think, feel and react in the ways that you need and want to live your life. If you go through a period of poor mental health you might find the ways you're frequently thinking, feeling or reacting become difficult, or even impossible, to cope with.
Mid Cheshire MIND works in partnership with local organisations. Some organisations hold drop-in sessions within the centre, whilst others have their own premises but work with us to ensure that every individual gets the right support, at the right time. Life events or circumstances can impact in a negative way on our mental health.
Our counsellors are all qualified to at least Diploma level, with some working towards full accreditation. All our counsellors are police checked, insured, and most are members of BACP. They are rigorously selected and monitored by our Counselling Coordinator, and they also have external professional supervision.
