Mind Halton: Runcorn Services
We are Mind Halton. We are sometimes called a 'local branch', but we're actually an independent registered charity. Mind Halton is part of a network of over 100 Local Minds who tailor trusted mental health services to our communities. We set our own strategies and partnerships and rely on the support of our brilliant local fundraisers.

Our vision is for people to live and work in a borough that promotes good mental health for all and treats people with a mental health problem positively, fairly and with respect. We collaborate with Mind to make sure their pioneering campaigns, information and research makes a difference in Halton.
Services
People that use mental health services may have a Crisis Card or an Advance Directive in their bag or pocket. This gives written information about who to contact in a crisis. Most people who use mental health services will also have a Care Plan and a named professional responsible for their care, ask them.
When we experience problems it is often helpful to talk over the situation with some else. This could be a friend or family member but there are times when it can be useful to talk to a person who is outside the situation, who has professional skills and experience to assist people with emotional and psychological difficulties.
Our telephone listening service is for anyone over 17 years and living in Halton, whose feelings of isolation and loneliness is affecting their mental health. Our listening service is person focussed and open ended which we hope will promote a relationship that is therapeutic and healing.

Our team of empathic listeners aim to promote opportunities for you to be listened to and encouraged to identify and build on your strengths by acting as virtual mentors and befrienders.
Our Wellbeing and Recovery Project aims to provide you with a supported journey towards improved wellbeing by empowering you to take control of your recovery through better understanding your mental health. The project aims to follow the Recovery College Model and as such is designed to increase participant's knowledge and understanding of their own mental health and in turn promote self-management.
Emotions are an expression of how we think and feel which might be because we feel happy, sad or angry. When we recognise and understand our emotions, we probably think of them and express them in a healthy way.

However, there might be times when your emotions become overwhelming and you don't know how to change things or you begin to express your emotions in a way that hurts people important to you or you hurt yourself, in which case it might be time to take action.
