Based in the riverside town of South Woodham Ferrers in the Essex countryside. The clubhouse is situated on the northern bank of Fenn Creek, a tidal tributary of the River Crouch. The twists and turns of the creek combine with the tidal flow to challenge all levels of sailing ability whilst providing a safe learning environment for inexperienced members.
The club has been sailing from this site and on these waters for over seventy years. It has seen many changes in the surrounding area but remains true to the spirit of the founding members; competitive on the water, best friends on the land, welcoming to visitors and there is nothing that can't be put right over a cup of tea.

Services
The racing season at Eyott runs from March to October and forms the mainstay of the club's on the water activity. This racing is run in a way to be accessible to all taking part. Even a novice sailor can expect to finish one of their first races despite being in the same race as highly skilled helms in considerably faster boats.
If you've looked at the racing calendar you might noticed a large number of strangely named races! Some of these are for historical reasons or occur near a specific date, others indicate unusual formats and these can be found below. Many of these special races are specifically for two man boats, however if you've got a single handed boat there's normally a Presidents series race on the same day.
Over the past several years existing members of the club have brought canoes, kayaks & paddle boards down the club and have enjoyed the exercise of paddling up and down the creek, occasionally so enthusiastic for more time on the water appearing at 6 am on a weekday. As of 2011 the club now welcomes memberships from those wishing to use the club as a base for canoeing, kayaking or paddle boarding rather than sailing.
Of course, being a member of Eyott isn't just about the sailing, there's a social side to the club as well. We run various types of events throughout the year including Chinese / Indian / fish and chips take-away nights, quizzes and BBQ's at the club house and our more formal end of season dinner "The Laying Up Supper and prize giving" in November.
As with most places the best option is to use a sat nav. Once you've reached the post code keep going into the public car park at the end of the road and then left into the sailing club car park. Turn off the A130 at the Rettenton turnpike and negotiate the roundabout system onto the A132 heading for South Woodham Ferrers.
