Up River Yacht Club
Established in 1936, Up River Yacht Club is a friendly, non-profit, sailing club, situated on the River Crouch at Hullbridge, offering facilities for all types of sailing for all ages. Up River Yacht Club promotes sailing as a sport for all and offers the opportunity for local children and adults to try sailing at the annual RYA 'Push The Boat Out' event.

Engage RYA approved sailing instructors to support the Up River Yacht Club Cadet Programme. Promotes sailing more widely by taking part in 'Bart's Bash' - the world largest sailing event. On-line: please explore the Up River Yacht Club website that contains a wealth of information about the club. Phone: why not speak to one of our club officers?

The first one (above) is an introductory video and is just over 2 minutes long. Worth watching even if you are an infrequent visitor to the club as it gives you an idea useful this device is. The second video is more detailed - however it shows the non-automatic version. The greater detail is very useful to have a full understanding of how it works and how to look after it.
Up River Yacht Club is a not-for-profit self help club. This enables yacht club membership to be offered at the lowest possible cost making sailing accessible to the wider community. The Club is heavily dependent upon the good will of its membership to volunteer to help run and maintain the Club. Plus for support from local people and businesses to help the club raise funds.
5% discount when shopping instore at Marinestore. Just show your Up River Yacht Club Programme of Events and Tide Tables Booklet as proof of membership (see your membership card that is incorporated into the back cover). They have outlets at Wallasea, Burnham, (Foundry Lane CM0 8BL, ) Maldon and West Mersea.
A small army of volunteer club members will be supporting this event which is part of a national initiative called 'Push The Boat Out'. Push The Boat Out is part of a national promotion of the sport of sailing by the Royal Yachting Association. It also ties in with Government initiatives to through Sport England to get people active.
At Up River Yacht Club we take great pride not only in being a very well organised club, but also a very friendly and welcoming club too. Why not email to let us know you are interested in joining and also perhaps ask any final questions before completing a full application. Sorry its still an old fashioned paper application.
