East Hill Pride Farm Shop is a family owned and hands on business that was originally started when in the mid 1800's my great grandfather who ran a Heavy Horse Harness making shop on Cornhill Ottery St Mary bought our farm. I started farming when I was 14 years old working for my father and continued until I married my wife when we took over the farm in 1974.
We milked cows until the quota system was introduced when we felt the need to diversify. The herd was sold and we followed a passion to sell home produced meats to the final consumer giving customers freedom of choice from the major multiples. We applied and obtained planning permission to build an abbatoir, I trained to be a licensed slaughterman and butcher and bought a redundant butchers shop in Newton Poppleford.

Services
Our tea room offers a wide range of light lunches, all day breakfast, freshly ground coffee, mouth watering cream teas, homemade cakes and Sunday lunches during the fruit season and December which can be enjoyed with a glass of wine, beer or cider as the tea room and garden is fully licensed, has a cozy log burning stove and breath taking views of East Devon.
My wife Cynthia runs the farm shop and is always pleased to tell you about her homemade pasties and delicious cakes, yeast free spelt soda bread and the range of artisan products that we are constantly sourcing from local producers and farmers. Our meat is totally unique as we are the only farmers with an on farm ECC Approved Abbatoir, cutting plant and retail farm shop in Devon, producing meat for farm shops, farmers markets and box schemes.
Even if you don't live locally or you don't have time to visit us we will be only to happy to send you any product that is stocked in our farm shop, from meats to homemade products. You can even try your own recipe pork or beef sausages, guaranteed next day delivery. Minimum purchase order or quantity may apply.
We specialize in a unique boneless HOG ROAST that enables perfect cooking with juicy crackling that can be sliced and served quicker. The pig is totally boned and is then rolled and tied to its original profile. Our boneless Hog Roast service can be supplied and cooked and served with baps, stuffing and apple sauce for any number of people for weddings, parties or corporate events, other meats can also be supplied.
Since moving to our present location we have increased our production by introducing new fruits, a wider range of varieties and covered polly tunnels which give us protection from adverse weather enabling us to maximize our production.
The season starts with Rhubarb and continues with cooking Gooseberries, Blackcurrants, Tayberries, Loganberries, Redcurrants, Jostaberries, Desert Gooseberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Victoria Plums, a succession of Strawberries and Raspberries, Runner Beans, Pumpkins and Squash.

I don't usually leave reviews but this was so bad.
We we're the only people there and the service
took ages, we had 2 cream teas, the scones were warm and soggy, as if they had been microwaved from frozen or maybe they was made from stodgy bread rolls, didn't taste like a scone or look like one.
Don't you normally make up your own cream tea? Not served already done.
Sorry can't recommend this place for cream teas.

Called into East Hill Pride farm shop today..we had a full english breakfast cooked fresh for us and at £5.95 was an absolute steal..all fresh ingredients from the farm..their own bacon..sausages and eggs..I think the only ingredient that wasn't from the farm were the baked beans! We also purchased some succulent Strawberries..they were to die for and Gooseberries which I picked then and there which I have yet to make into a crumble. But the best was the lamb steaks that we had for our evening meal..what beautiful pieces of meat they were..salt..pepper a little olive oil and fried in the pan.
