Services
Rumwell Farm Shop is an independent, family-run, award-winning business owned by the Mitchell family. It is situated on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton. It was originally a potato store, where David and Anne Mitchell began selling their potatoes and free range eggs at the gate. Due to customer demand, the range of products soon increased and the farm shop grew into the place it is today.
Anne and her husband, David own the farm shop. They have two sons, James and Jack and daughters-in-law Sophie and Donna, who are also involved in the family business. Anne oversees the running of the whole shop and also heads up customer service. Her home is on the family farm just four miles from the farm shop in Hillcommon.
Our Aberdeen Angus beef cattle spend the summer months grazing on lush green grass on the banks of the river tone. The winter months are spent housed in large, airy buildings, kept warm and comfortable on straw beds. They are fed on nutritious maize grown on the farm, topped up with our own barley and stock feed potatoes.
Our busy Farm Shop team needs an assistant to help with replenishing stock, keeping the shop tidy, helping customers, as well as bagging and weighing produce and more. No experience necessary but may be beneficial. The role will be approximately 20-25 hours per week, exact days and rate of pay will be discussed at interview.
We are a family-run business where you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from our 32 full and part-time staff. We stand for good quality and stock the very best local produce and products.

The local suppliers we support include Gundenham Dairy in Langford Budville near Wellington, The Chillees in Norton Fitzwarren near Taunton, Styles Ice Cream in Minehead, Lyme Bay Winery in Axminster, Cotleigh Brewery in Wiveliscombe and Nutcombe Chocolates in Dunster. We make many items on-site from our sausages, pork pies and quiche to our jams and marmalades as well as our cakes and ready meals.

Really nice food. Shame they didn't have vegan cheese as it covers at least 3 of their options on the vegan menu. Staff were lovely although it seemed they were either quite inexperienced or over their heads. They were quite a few checks to ensure things were right and they still got a few things wrong. Will definitely be back to try again.

What a smashing place to shop and eat! The food in the cafe was delicious (be aware the scones are huge!) and the farm shop is a delight! A fantastic balance of fresh fruit and veg (some of which I've not seen in a supermarket before!) with pick your own frozen, wonderful breads and cake and a whole lot more besides. I'll be back!

Rumwell is a great stop when looking for an M5 stop as an alternative to the motorway services.

Very good service, decent prices and quality ingredients. Plenty of car park slots and a nice little playground for children. The food was a bit disappointing, although, as I said already, the ingredients are of very good quality and fresh. The burgers are juicy, medium rare, with a very tasty beef patty. Unfortunately, the sauce is overpowering the patty and the wholemeal buns (although healthier choice) very soft and squishy were almost melting in a good because of the sauce. The lasagna lacked the bechamel sauce and even if still fresh, the pasta was microwaved ... Great coffee, nutty and well

The cafe is nice and with plenty of choices for breakfast. The food is good as well. BUT THE SCONES! The scones are amazing, genuinely the best I ever had. Same with EVERYTHING (blondies, flapjack, crunch) we got from the shop. Well worth a visit!

Lots of parking, which is always a bonus! There's generally a good selection of goods, from spices and cooking sauces, condiments and preserves, fresh fruit and veg, to fresh fish and meat, deli produce and cheeses, fresh eggs and bakery items.
Most of what they have is locally produced and organic, and is reasonably priced, all things considered. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Well worth visiting, you're bound to find something interesting that you've never seen before!

Tasty local preserves, a good selection of locally grown produce, lovely meats and sausage rolls to die for (my wife swears that they're the best sausage rolls she has ever had). Definitely worth a visit to pick up something a little bit different, or to break away from the usual suspects when it comes to food shopping.
