Services
John, Joyce and Noel Eveleigh moved to Washingpool Farm in the 1970's where they started growing fruit and vegetables. The farm consists of land situated on the end of the sand belt that runs from Yeovil, 20 miles away, through to Bridport. This means the soil is free draining and ideal for growing vegetables as it can be worked most of the year.
With a huge range of products sourced from Dorset and the South West, Washingpool Farm Shop has gained a reputation for providing really good quality produce at good prices. Alongside a wide range of greengrocery, we stock our own beef, pork, lamb, vegetables and flowers as well as Washingpool ready meals, soups and cakes.
The Farmer's Kitchen is a licensed caf serving breakfasts, lunches, morning coffee and afternoon tea. Using local ingredients and our own meat wherever possible dishes include cheddar and spinach souffl, lasagne with real chips and home-made soups and sandwiches. The restaurant seats 30 with additional seating on the terrace on fine days and is generally open six days a week (see below for seasonal opening times).
Converted from a 19th century building, these two cottages are set amidst a working farm also home to an award winning farm shop (featured on series 3 of Broadchurch), restaurant, caravan site and fishing lakes. The cottages are great for family holidays and provide an excellent base from which to discover the Jurassic Coast and Dorset countryside.
In 2020 we were granted planning permission to extend our caravan site from 5 pitches to 10 pitches. We are no longer restricted to accepting bookings from Caravan Club members so all are welcome (we are still ADULTS ONLY though). If you would like to be kept up to date with the news then sign up to our newsletter (you can tick the areas of our business that you are interested in so we don't send you unnecessary information).

Decided to go here to purchase some locally produced goods before heading home after a holiday in the area and I've got to say I've been very impressed with the quality. Homemade jam/marmalade were delicious. Also purchased some meat from the farm which was first class, especially the steaks (sirloin and rib-eye). Will definitely be back when I'm holidaying down that way again.

We spent a week in Bridport arriving 2808/2021, and we are return customers to this lovely Farm Shop. It’s a favourite Farm Shop of ours over the years. So this visit we popped in every other day during our stay to stock up. We enjoyed the Sourdough bread, the fresh local milk and butter and the delicious Washing Pool Strawberry Jam!!! (We still have a jar to finish we brought home, not much left I may add) Also the wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables even fresh beetroot’s that were prepared and ready to buy. We enjoys several of the pasty’s and lovely ham and even bought a nice

Excellent find!…came across this farm shop by chance…well stocked with lots of fresh local produce and wide range of chilled food items. Helpful staff who go above and beyond. Full covid19 precautions are in place (masks required upon entering). Cafe adjacent to the farm shop offers a reasonable menu including all the usual favourites such as cream tea. Coffee tasted good and the Dorset Apple Cake was first class. Play area for children and stunning uninterrupted views across Dorset. Family run business which shows. Ample parking and full disability access. Outside portaloo only available at

On holiday and visited the Farm Shop, with my wife and in-laws, on Friday (27/08) and purchased some foodstuffs. My in-laws, after a couple of bites, threw the rest of their pies in the bin, and my wife was actually sick after eating some of her pie. Tonight we had peppered pork steaks and neither of us could finish them due to the awful taste. We will never visit this establishment again, and I would advise, on the basis of our experience of their food, that everyone should think twice before visiting.

I’ve been once before and LOVED our lunch had there. The children were entertained with the animals and the playground and the food and coffee was nice. HOWEVER we went back during the summer hols when it was warmer and the experience was completely different...purely down to the overwhelming amount of wasps and the staffs attitude towards the… issue. Of course wasps will be attracted to food and drink, that’s not the cafe’s fault but the complete lack of deterrents is. We had to inhale our food and every time the children wanted to drink their juice we had to flap furiously
