As an independent optician we are able to stock a wide range of frames with a variety of colours and sizes. Indeed we have over 500 frames to choose from and our stock is continually changing. Whether you're looking for budget or designer our fully qualified and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to talk you through your options.
Not everyone wants to wear spectacles to correct their sight and contact lens are a fantastic alternative. Contact lenses are very flexible, you can wear them just for a night out, to play sport or every day, it's up to you. Age is also not a barrier, we have patients from 10yrs to 80yrs old wearing contact lenses.
Reading is a skill that can be taken for granted and those who find it difficult have been labelled in the past as being 'slow', 'stupid' or having special educational needs. However, it may be that the eyes are just not aiming properly. School Vision is the study of the relationship between visual performance and the occupation of reading.

Andrew Lomas Optometrist Ltd has invested in a revolutionary piece of diagnostic equipment. It can detect a number of common eye conditions, such as glaucoma, age related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy and many other not so common conditions during a routine eye test. This piece of equipment is called a 3D Optical Coherence Tomography system (3D OCT).

After years of worrying about visiting an opticians after a bad childhood experience, I can honestly say all my fears were wiped away in one visit. I was completely put at ease by the friendly and professional approach. Every aspect of my test was fully explained and all my questions answered. My new lenses have made life so much better and easier. I cannot recommend highly enough, and will certainly return with confidence when my next test is due.

I tried various other opticians before going to Andrew lomas with with my old frames which were in a sorry state of disrepair. On all previous occasions I was practically laughed out of the shop and it was suggested I simply buy some new frames as adding new lenses could not be done. However Holly from Lomas’ took on the task and regarded their fix as a personal challenge. Holly removed the old lenses without any frame damage and sent them away for the new prescription lenses to be fitted. Holly fixed the loose arms and I received, within a week, what looked like a brand new pair of glasses.

Seen within 24 hrs for a vision problem within the right eye. Andrew diagnosed i had a scratch on the corneal, advised me what i should do and what to take medication wise and hay presto 7 days later my eye is back to full vision. excellent service. Many thanks to yourself and staff for your time and advice.

I recently took four pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses to Andrew Lomas for lens replacements.
Three of them had distant lenses fit whilst the fourth had 3x magnification lenses fit.
The work carried out was first class and the turnaround was about a
week. The quality of the lenses/clarity etc are perfect.
I would highly recommend Andrew Lomas as with previous jobs he's
done for me in the past have always been perfect.
