St John's R C Primary School
At St. John's we shape our history curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive to every child. At St John's, we aim for a high quality history curriculum which should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the Britain's past and that of the wider world.

Our teaching equips pupils with knowledge about the history of Britain and how it has influenced and been influenced by the wider world; know and understand about significant aspects of the history of the wider world like ancient civilisations and empires; changes in living memory and beyond living memory; learn about the lives of significant people of the past; understand the methods of historical enquiry and be able to ask and answer questions.
Services
I would like to welcome you to the family of St. John's. At St. John's, we strive to build self-confidence and seek excellence in fulfilling the educational, social and spiritual needs of our children. Our dedicated and committed team of clergy, staff and governors work together to make sure that the children in our care are a respected part of our Christian community, one where they feel valued and secure.
St. John was called to be an Apostle by our Lord in the first year of His public ministry. He became the "beloved disciple". St. John was especially loyal to Jesus and the only one of disciples who did not forsake Him in the hour of His Passion. Our school badge depicts St. John faithfully standing at the cross when Christ made him the guardian of His Mother.
Each year, during Lent and a time when we try to reflect and put our needs into perspective, our Cafod representative joins us for a special assembly to highlight the work of CAFOD. This year, we learnt about how hard it is for many families and children to survive in a harsh environment where war, or a natural disaster, has occured.
Thank you to parents and carers who are trying hard to keep our school community safe by adhering to the staggered start and finish times for your child and keep a safe distance from other parents, children and staff. It is very important that you drop off and collect your children at the set time and gate.
Children cannot be admitted into our nursery until they are aged three. We aim to have all our children admitted to the nursery by the end of September. Parents and Carers should contact the school office if they wish to place their child's name on our nursery waiting list. Admission to the nursery is based on age.
