Services
Owned and managed by the Ryder family, our brand new hotel is located just outside the village of Cawthorne in South Yorkshire, just 10 minutes from junctions 37 or 38 of the M1. The hotel is right next to our house, set within its own specially designed gardens, with views of the countryside beyond.
Our rooms are designed to be as cosy and homelike as possible, without compromising on hygiene and safety. At more than 1 times bigger than standard boarding cattery "pens", our rooms really are human-sized. Our double rooms are suitable for 1-2 cats to share and our even bigger family rooms are suitable for up to 4 cats from the same family.
Cawthorne Cat Hotel has been designed to be as home-like as possible. All our decorated rooms are beautifully furnished with beds, activity trees, and "human" chairs, but there is plenty of space for you to bring toys, beds, and furnishings from home as well, to help your cat settle in. You are welcome to take as much time as you like settling your cat when you arrive, and we'll help you arrange their room just the way they'd like it.
At Cawthorne Cat Hotel, ALL of our rooms are much larger than standard cattery pens, and meet the new 5 star higher welfare standards for catteries which were introduced in 2018. Our double rooms are even bigger than the "family" rooms at many other catteries which are used to house 4 cats! Short stays of 5 days or less are subject to an additional fee of 20.

Absolutely amazing service and level of care for our pet on two short stays over the last few years. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and so passionate for her job, and we feel incredibly reassured and comfortable leaving our cat in her care. The rooms are spacious, warm and homely. We're always kept updated and informed every day with lovely pictures and messages, and the attention to detail taken to really get to know the animals in her care over multiple visits and tailor her service to each one's personality, diet and daily routine is second to none. Couldn't be happier and will be booking back

Amazing facilities & really friendly. This is the first time our cats have visited & it will definitely be the only place they will stay away from home. we have a timid cat out our 2 but Jennifer kept… encouraging her & she became more comfortable. Our moody fluffballs Maddy and Lyra stayed here whilst recently whilst we got married and went on honeymoon. It was actually their second visit - on their first stay earlier this year they were very unsociable and stayed in bed until the very last day. Jennifer was upset last time that she hadn't managed to befriend them, however this time… different tactics were engaged to try and encourage them out, and it worked - they were much more engaging and affectionate (if still a little moody!). Having an elderly cat with various illnesses, I was very worried about leaving my cat whilst on holiday. Jennifer at the Cawthorne Cat Hotel was lovely from the start, making sure Rosie was as stress free as possible and spending lots of time getting to know her. She went through all her medications with me so she was clear on what to give her. I got updates with pictures and videos. On collection I could tell Rosie was happy and stress free.

Dave and Oscar stayed with the Cawthorne family over a long weekend and all I can say is AMAZING. Jennifer kept us up to date with Dave and Oscars holiday everyday and completely put us all at ease. If I am completely honest I think both fur babies were sad to leave the hotel. I always find it hard when I put my trust in someone else to care for them but I can truly say they were cared for and loved during their stay by the Cawthorne family. Dave and Oscar will definitely be holidaying again at this hotel xx

I cannot recommend this cat hotel enough - we had work carried out at out house in May/June and our kitties Arthur & Betsy had to move out as Arthur would have got very stressed and Betsy would have ended up buried under the new patio!! From the very day of the their staycation, Jenny & Christina welcomed them in with open arms. Jenny spent a long time with us checking what the cats liked to eat, what their mannerisms where, and what their likes and dislikes were. Each day she sent us video clips of their stay and them playing and having fun. This is a fab place where I wouldn’t hesitate to send

Cawthorne Cat Hotel is a gem of a place! The surroundings are beautiful and the experience is truly unique and bespoke. It’s a treat for cats and Atticus was loved and cared for as he is at home. Jennifer surpassed my expectations so a huge thank you! The WhatsApp updates and Facebook updates were very welcome and it was lovely to see Atticus having fun and enjoying new experiences. The Cawthorne Cat hotel is a home from home for our beloved elderly cat. He settles down immediately and appreciates the attention he receives from Jennifer. The cattery is in a very peaceful spot with a lovely garden where there is a lot to entertain him from the hens to the horse, and his apartment has different toys each time. Every attention is paid to the quality of the accommodation. The CCH is a truly 5 star establishment.

Absolutely amazing! Best cattery I've ever seen! I received photos of my babies each day of their stay; they were so well looked after and I don't think they wanted to come home!
Underfloor heating, plenty of toys for stimulation and the little balcony for fresh air is an absolute bonus!

Amazing! We left our Tilly with Jenifer for a week whilst we were in holiday. We were sooo nervous with it being the first time we’ve left her with anyone but, honestly we made the right choice with cawthorne!… We had daily updates and photos sent which we’re fab. It was so nice to see Tilly was okay and it made our holiday so much more enjoyable knowing she was fine! We loved this place so much we have booked her back in again ready for our next holiday in October! Thank you again Jenifer and everyone at cawthorne! You have been fab with our girl!

The only problem with the Cat Hotel is actually getting your cat to come home again! Martha loves being here, with toys, the countryside and the garden to look at all day. We feel so relaxed leaving her there and Jennifer keeps us in touch with videos and photos. She also spends a lot of time with each cat, stroking and talking to them (obviously the first sign of madness!!) and making them feel comfortable. Add to that the pristine rooms, underfloor heating and immaculate surroundings it's small wonder they don't want to come home!

Cawthorne Cat Hotel surpassed my expectations when we arrived to drop our cat off last week. It truly is such a beautiful property - literally a hotel for cats! Away from the noise of cars and engulfed in… nature. The individual rooms which cats are kept in are incredibly spacious, lots of different places to lay and sleep, also a side window to see other cats staying too! Though for me the icing on the cake at Cawthorne has to be the individual balconies each cat gets. This is such a unique design and if like us, you’ve got an indoor cat, this will make you want one for yourself.

We were really apprehensive about leaving our fur baby for the first time but immediately we were put at ease by Jennifer. Snow has now stayed twice and has really enjoyed his time with future bookings made.
The rooms are spacious, clean with excellent facilities and toys.
Lots of care and attention were given including all personal details from which foods they like, treats and feeding regime at home down to favourite toys etc.
Regular updates are sent with photos and videos which is so reassuring that all is well and they are happy.

Recently took our cat to stay here over Christmas. I can't put into words how much this place cares for your pet. Of all services I've paid for in my life, this place takes the top spot for satisfaction. They have an array of cat foods stocked for you to choose from, loads of varieties of treats and take care in filling out a form for you so they know what your cat does and doesn't like while they're staying. Cannot recommend this place enough. Happy to answer any questions anyone may have - would recommend to anyone.
