Dovedale Primary School
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Dovedale Primary School. Our school has an excellent reputation in Liverpool and is highly respected within the local community. We have incredibly happy children, dedicated staff who provide a creative curriculum which is exciting and fun that is enriched through first hand experiences.

We are very well supported by our parents, governors, Friends of Dovedale and other members of the local community. The full report can be found under the 'key information' tab. I hope that you enjoy looking at our website and find it both interesting and informative.
Services
We aim to bring History to life at Dovedale by immersing our pupils in experiences both in school and educational visits. We equip our pupils to have a real understanding of when events happened and aim to ignite their curiosity about the past. Alongside historical knowledge and understanding, there is a high focus on specific historical skills.
The website 'Whizz, Pop, Bang' have produced some free learning resources for home learning - on the webpage there is an option to subscribe but all you need to do is scroll down and there are free and accessible resources for each year group. This includes reading comprehension and practical experiment resources that can be completed using household objects.
If you would like to transfer your child to our school the procedure is now to contact us directly if they are in Year 1 to 6. You can contact us directly in the spring term if you have a Reception child and would like to transfer them. In the autumn term you need to contact the Local Authority as they manage the process in this first term.
Democracy is an important value at our school. Pupils have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our School Council. Once the candidates have prepared and presented a speech the children in each class vote for their own class representative. The elections of Year 6 House Captains are based solely on pupil votes.
School governors are one of the country's largest voluntary groups with around 345,000 school governors contributing to strategic development and raising standards of achievement at over 30,000 schools. School governors are members of their school's governing body which is a "corporate body".

A corporate body has a legal identity that is separate from its members and as a result, individual governors are generally protected from personal liability as a result of the governing body's decisions and actions, provided they act honestly, reasonably and in good faith.

So much for the 'business manager' ...First call 'out for lunch', second call 'out of the office'..twice left a message but no return call. I went to the school as a child but have now found places for my friends two children at Greenbank school where the staff were extremely helpful and always returned my calls .
