We're a traditional French bistro tucked away in the heart of Angel, Islington. Our cosy, warm and welcoming quaint bistro is one of the oldest French restaurants in the area and has built up an astounding reputation over the years for our authentic, indulgent menu. At Le Sacre Coeur we create an undisturbed and classy environment centred around incredible food and impeccable service.
Looking for a tasty lunch or an unforgettable dinner? Tasty food, good sized portions, we went there on a Sunday and they had a set menu which was really good value. Salmon salad was really good, soup was really nice too, really good quality.

Services
Excellent restaurant and a great place to eat whilst visiting the Almeida theatre which is close by. Food was wonderful and the service was great too. Popped in yesterday on off chance as didnt really know where to eat. We both had one of the specials which was duck in red wine and prune sauce with mash, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.

Amazing food!!! Me and my husband call ourselves food travellers- we love to travel and we love to try new food and search for a little gem restaurants preferably away from city centres. We found this place by accident and OMG!!! food experience was absolutely unbelievable!!! Starters, mains, desserts- everything really delicious. I had a moment similar to the one from "The Ratatouille" movie, where the food critic was trying food and memories from childhood came rushing back- I had it when i tried my dessert- caramelised apple tart!!! Absolutely unforgettable flavour!!!
Price was reasonable,

Dreadful service. I have a medical condition that means I must not be exposed to cigarette smoke. On Saturday afternoon, another couple arrived, were given the table next to ours (literally one foot behind me) and started chain -smoking. Le Sacre Coeur had been empty apart from 6 people (us and 2 others), so there was no need to place smokers next to non-smokers. I complained, explained my problem, and asked to be moved to another table, expecting an apology and to be moved to the other end of the restaurant. But the eldest waitresses got visibly annoyed, complained that all the other tables were

Always loved this place since the mid/late 90s. Was my go to place for Sunday evening dinner for close to a decade. Was close by, so drove by on the off chance and so happy to see it’s still there and bustling.… We managed to snag an outdoor table where you can watch the world go by and all with the same great service, and delicious French food. Highly recommend this place particularly since there are so few reasonably priced French restaurants around.

Delightful spot in the heart of Islington. Walk from Angel.
French food a delight and a wide choice.
The set menu has great choices and represents great value. However, be sure to check what you want to eat against the set menu price as what we ordered was less individually than the set menu. The staff were great agreeing to charge seperately.
Great cooking. French tastes. Good scenery. Good service. Highly recommend.

A fantastic french meal. Every course was delicious. The french onion soup was full of flavour, the calamari was amazing, steak was cooked perfectly with great fries and desert was spot on. Classic french cooking at its best. Very well priced, great atmosphere and service. I will be going again for sure.

I've now been here twice and have really enjoyed it! It is an adorable French restaurant in a great location.
Recently, I went with the prixe fixe menu with three courses. I started with the Camembert Frit (Camembert cheese coated in breadcrumbs, fried, and served with redcurrant and raspberry coulis). This was delicious! The cheese paired so well with the raspberry coulis and it was no greasy at all (perfectly fried).
For my main course, I got the Steak d'Agneau au Romarin
Grilled lamb steak with red wine & rosemary sauce (served with sautéed potatoes). This was delicious as

I enjoyed my time here. I went with my girlfriend.
Love the atmosphere. Excellent waiting staff. Very attentive and not intrusive. I love this. The service was excellent.
My boeuf was excellent. Her coq au vin was nice but she wasn't overly keen on the presence of a "few bones which felt like shrapnel"
My creme brûlée was a little cold after I broke through the crust which was a shame. Her chocolate mousse was excellent.
Will I revisit this place? Yes.

We went to this charming French bistro before going to a show at Sadlers Wells - it was just the thing - lovely atmosphere and tasty menu.
A word of warning, though - be cautious when ordering starters and main course! I had onion soup followed by mussels, which was perfect! My husband had breaded Camembert (which looks scrumptious) followed by beef Bourguignon (also delicious)... but the portions could easily have served two! Probably best to ask the waiting staff about portion size when ordering!

Been here twice for their lunch time offer. Really good service. Staff are very pleasant. Even towards idiots like me who can't figure out how to open the door
Ordered the Camembert and the minute steak. Both came out in really good time. Huge portion of Camembert. And the steak with the peppercorn sauce was actually flipping gorgeous.
And if you watch the Ricky Gervais comedy, Derek, this is where Derek has his date in the first series

I'd give this place 3 1/2 stars if I could.
It has a relaxed vibe with a neighbourhoody feel. There's a big enough menu that you feel you have choices, but not so huge that you feel overwhelmed. Also have a solid amount of veggie options, which is a nice thing.
My vegetarian pasta provencale was really good but the mussels starter was only halfway decent. There was only a touch of broth at the bottom of the plate, and the mussels themselves were dry and a bit rubbery. This may be the type of place that's touch and go, and they do some dishes very well and struggle with others
