The Imperial was our favourite pub outside of London and we would regularly make the trip from Camberwell to eat, especially their Sunday Roast. This Bank Holiday Monday after the New Year we decided to pre-book and go here for the last meal of the holidays and was excited to visit again.
The service was very slow and chaotic due to staff shortages which is understandable at the moment. We were told that they were up against it and that the manager had to pop to Bookers - which concerned us a bit. Accidentally did a dine & dash following great service & great food on a very busy night. Called back to apologise & pay, was thanked for our honesty! Great friendly atmosphere. As one of my friends would say (it's her local) it's like Cheers. Looking forward to future visits as there was plenty on the menu for this fussy veggie who hates fungus

Had a 3pm booking for 5 people (including a 2 year old). Got there at 3pm, 3.20pm before we got our drinks, 4.05pm before our food came out. Waitress told us that "everywhere's the same" when we complained about the food wait, not mentioning at the start they were down a chef. No reduction off the bill for the wait, just a poor attitude from the waitress who was defensive. Also, food was lukewarm and fine, nothing special.

Decided to book here as I had read a good review on my news feed.
It's my birthday so I wanted a treat
Nice old pub...a little dark. but pleasant enough atmosphere..
Staff very helpful and friendly
Food was really ni more than average..chips good. .steak a little over done .not many scampi pieces for the money .. especially as I seen a photo of the same dish online...and it looked so much better...!

Tryed the fish Friday menu tonight and was delicious, plus you can still order from the bistro menu so plenty of choices including whole lobster and surf and turf.
There's a pre book Christmas menu available for the 1st-23rd of December which looks excellent value for money, small deposit required.
Great building with plenty of history.
Booked bistro for a Sunday roast dinner.
Foods good, does get very busy especially for Sunday lunches.
Nice bistro and courtyard.
Staff amazing! Professional, polite and attentive.
Will definitely revisit and try the fish menu available on

This is a small cosy pub with delicious food. There are vegan options. We tried the two vegan burgers in the menu and they were both delicious. The homemade chips are one of the best that I have tried in a long time.
The place is clean, the staff very friendly and the prices are normal. I recommend it.
